I saw on another forum that the black armor is an original stormtrooper helmet with the word FEAR written across the forehead in Aurubesh letters. Now where it gets really interesting is that someone on yet another forum described this very character way back in September '14. Here there be spoilers.

52 years of Doctor Who at this point, they've probably done everything you can do. It's the sci-fi Simpsons.

I thought the crystal areas were popular in the 1980s? I remember a lot of crystal scenes in fantasy 80s flicks.

Here's some more ideas:

- a higher Cloud City between different atmospheres (lower level breathable, upper level no gravity).

- a Non-Newtonian fluid underground city separated by different solid tunnels and areas underground for people to live and work - sort of claustrophobic like Mars in Total Recall. This would have original action scenes.

Even the media got confused. I've said it many times, Lucasfilm need to put "Episode VII" as part of the title in all marketing material. Just a small font into the logo.

Default CGI vs. Practical!!!

Abrams had this to say:

Expect more real and less CGI: The director said there are an "endless number of effects" but a lot more real tangible things than fans might expect. "We needed to set a standard that was real.... you want it to be legitimate and authentic," he said of the real sets and locations used in "TFA."

This is interesting. I can't remember Lucasfilm/Disney ever referring to the Force Awakens as Episode VII, not even in the trailer. Maybe they don't wanna put off people who are new to Star Wars, who would otherwise go like 'Episode VII? So I first have to watch six more films to catch up?!'

But then again, who hasn't seen Star Wars?

While I agree that practical is absolutely real as it is shot in camera, CGI can be legitimate and authentic when used right. I keep thinking of Davy Jones when discussing this subject. Incredible, the best use of light and magic. John Knoll is supervising Episode VII so expect something similar quality.

Disney may not be using VII in the marketing, but they sure plastered the VII (in the star wars font) on the studios they were using to film... and I've seen hats / shirts for the crew that have VII on it.

The only time "Episode (#)" was listed in the titles/trailers was during the prequels.

But they have always been part of the opening crawl. (Well at least since they added "Episode IV" to "A New Hope.")

Yeah, I'm confident it will appear in the opening crawl. But I think it won't appear in any official press and marketing material until later this year, for the reason I mentioned.

Btw: I believe ESB and ROTJ both had the Episode number in the opening crawl when they were first released, but I'm not 100% sure.

They were in the opening crawl.
But in marketing materials like posters and trailers, they're announced as Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back or Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Only the prequels used Episode numbers explicitly.

I guess Lucasfilm are trying to match the Original Trilogy in a sense.

in a sense?

If you haven't notice by now they're trying to duplicate the original trilogy in every possible way.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if JJ went so far as to research the same make and model of cameras and lenses used to film the originals.

I'm REALLY hoping that the character of Captain Phasma doesn't get killed off in this movie or have very little screen time, ala Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Darth Maul. Yeah, I know Darth Maul came back in The Clone Wars tv show, but I'm talking about the live-action films here.

How do you know we'll even like her? She could survive and have a ton of screen time ala Jar Jar Binks.
