That's unbelievable.

Sony needs that repeat of history. Remember what Final Fantasy 7 meant to the PS2? FF13 or whatever needs to be that for the PS3.

This actually doesn't surprise me too much...although it couldn't have hurt. Square just had their own HUGE event recently, so I doubt they had anything new to show as part of the Sony presentation. They probably would have caught a lot of flack for "rehashing" the same stuff.

Anyway, I just saw the Killzone2, MGS4, and COD4 trailers and HOLY CRAP!!! They look incredible. Especially, Killzone2.

FF7 was definitely the PS1's killer app. I think they're certainly going to help boost PS3 sales when their games hit the system later on. I wonder if they'll have as significant of an impact as they did historically though? Seems like their last couple of games haven't done as well, but I could be wrong. What I think people really want to see is the rumored PS3 remake of FF7. Now that would sell some hardware!

I think it's more a case of Square being the one to showcase Square products nowadays.

And Square has been pretty forthcoming about their plans to aggreesively market FF13.
