The film was already submitted in a cut form. So the BBFC didn't make any additional cuts.

They also cut the original and both of the US releases is region coded. BBFC sucks ass they should not control what version we want to buy. To cut the theatrical release is ok but to cut the home video release is just messed up. And they should stop doing that

They seem to think that British citizens are incapable of watching explicit simulated sexual violence without turning into rapists.

They didn't cut anything tho. The studio did BEFORE it was put to the BBFC. The BBFC are a great organisation, much fairer than the MPAA.

wrong.
The theatrical cut was the unrated cut and the BBFC cut it.
So they dont need to cut it again, the studio gave the BBFC a pre cut version for the DVD and Bluray release.

I thought the German film board were even more strict than ours.

I know they used to be, not sure if it's still the same over there.

Without trying to contradict myself (although I will anyway ), I can understand why they would cut things, but then at the same time I don't.

I understand that as an organisation or whatever they are, they have a duty to protect people from certain imagary. Children and potential psychopaths I'm looking at you! However, I feel they should release the uncut version separately or as a "Double-Play" because as responsible adults, we should understand what we should and shouldn't see. They should also understand that we don't like to be told what is good or bad for us.

What kind of a parent would let their children watch rape revenge horror anyways? I'm not a parent, but I wouldn't let my little sisters watch it...

Yeah i know but you should still be allowed to buy an uncut version of a movie. I have nothing against cutting the theatrical version but to cut the homevideo release is really not the right answer at all, Because people that buy movies don't want some cut version. That is what TV is for and not the homevideo release

Take your problem to the distributor then. Its not the BBFC's problem if the distributors didn't even attempt for an uncut release on video.

Maybe you ought to simply read the post more carefully, before jumping in with the "WRONG" comment. Don't worry, everybody makes themselves look silly on occasion, don't let it get to you.

The Aussie versions are rumoured to be uncut and Region B friendly.
