Couldn't the "video resolution" of "1080i" be renamed to "1080/60i" since there is already a 1080/50i option?

Also couldn't the name "video resolution" be changed to "video format" since both 1080p and 1080/60i and 1080/50i have the same spatial resolution?

Sounds like a good reason. I just thought about consistency. Maybe in the future you can fully write out each audio codec and place a FAQ section about the codecs and/or an i (info) icon behind the audio header on each movie page. That way people who don't know the difference or who want more information can easily get more information.
Just my 2 cents. ;-)

Regarding the first part: first of all I'd like to comment on all those persons like you who actually know what they're talking about, but use the wrong words or terms for it. No offense, I don't blame you, everyone has to learn. But... if you want to improve the database, I think you do have to make sure that you use the correct words or terms.
It's 1080p, 1080i, 1080p50, 1080i50, etc... Not 1080/50i. The 50Hz is not interlaced, it's the 1080 lines that are interlaced. So 1080i50 reads as "1080 line interlaced at 50 Hz".

Regarding your second request: I don't think you actually checked out the list, because if you did you would've noticed that 720p is also present. That makes the use of "video resolution" the best option.
Besides that... "video format" actually refers more to the video codec (and is used as such on a lot of website), like MPEG-4 AVC, VC-1 or MPEG-2. Your request would make it even less obvious what it points to.
Third reason is that the 1080i resolution is arguably better than 720p. And although it technically contains 1080 lines, the fact that it uses an interlaced method of playback you can say that a 1080i60 comes near to 1080p30, but remains different. I won't go into which one is better, hundreds of forums are filled with this discussion, I just want to point out that it remains a resolution and there are a lot of differences between them.

Last note on your whole story: if you want to see 1080i60 added, you ought to opt for a complete list:
1080i50
1080i60
1080p24
1080p25
1080p50
1080p60

I know there are some more 1080 resolutions, but these remain the most common. And you can even argue the commonness of 1080p25. ;-)

Actually no it isn't.

For one, the EBU (the biggest broadcasting union in the world) standard uses 1080/50i or 1080i25 to describe 50 interlaced fields per second (25 full frames per second), and 1080i30 and 1080/60i (NEVER 1080i60 to describe 60 interlaced fields per sec).

Show me a broadcasting standard which shows these are incorrect.

1080i50
1080i60
1080p24
1080p25
1080p50
1080p60
Since, in the biggest broadcasting union's standard, 1080i50 and 1080i60 are incorrect way of writing them, it should be either 1080i25 and 1080i30 or, as I think are better, 1080/50i and 1080/60i which shows what type of motion they are capable of (50hz & 60hz).

Since there is no 1080p25, 1080p50 or 1080p60 in the Blu-ray spec, there would be no point having those in the options to say a Blu-ray title has been encoded in that way, unless they ever get added to the spec.

I assume you mean it changed the order you had the pictures in?

If that's the case just don't hit the "Update Gallery" button after adding your gear. When you edit a single picture it automatically defaults the order to 1. When you add a piece of gear it updates to your gallery as soon as you hit the add button, there is no need to hit update gallery.

Edit: hmm nevermind, seems that this was already fixed from when I had played with it a few days ago.

Yea it's odd.

When I edit mine right now the display order stays the same when I edit them one at a time or even multiples at the same time.

Is there a way to add DVD player?

I added my HDTV, BD player, receiver & speakers. Everything else is completed. Now the only item left is the DVD player. It seems odd having left out this psc of equip in my gallery...

Yeah I know but it seems not fair to leave out a member of the family in the photo....

My obsolete HDTV rear projection tv 720p is included.
My obsolete receiver, no HD audio decoder is also included.
But my Oppo DVD player with HDMI 1.3 isn't included. After all it can upconvert to 1080p.

Can you add Amphion to the list of speaker Manufactures in the Home Theater section... They make excellent and affordable speakers. Thank You.

Ive also requested to JW via PM,
- Bookshelf speakers
- Drop down options for Tweeter - Horns

Anyways, i hope they get the bookshelf section opened up, ive seen a number of bookshelves in the surround section, and id love to consider some of them in the bookshelf section instead.

Just a thought.

I agree here... either a Bookshelf or Monitor Category. There are some bookshelf/monitor speakers that work so well as fronts, that why use limit them to surround duty?

Also, what about an On-wall, In-wall, In-ceiling speaker category?

This is what iceman had to say over in the other thread:

Either we'll create a separate category for it, or more likely add a flag "Bookshelf" Yes/No so you just can tag them as that since they are basically the same. When shopping for new speakers you might also want to have those in the same category so you easily can do comparisons between them.

thanks for the quote Mr. F, may i kindly ask for a link to the original thread?

for what its worth, i think it would be beneficial to have a separated area for monitors or bookshelves due to its differences compared to floorstanding speakers.

May i ask for a dedicated section for
- Headphones?

Too much to ask for turntables right...
