I watched mine a few months ago and you are quite right. It also doesn't help that Scott used various filters and diffusers to soften up the picture.

for the record Paramount has done a hidef transfer of Dragonslayer - it also has been broadcast on HDNet Movies. HDNet has also shown Ladyhawke in hidef. HDnet essentially is one big giant tease.

I'll have to keep an eye out for those. Maybe all hope is not lost for a BD release then. I'd imagine we'll see Ladyhawke in the U.S. before Dragonslayer based strictly on the studios involved.

Well sure, if you're satisfied with highly compressed 1080i images and lossy audio.

I'm not, but why Paramount and Warners are not releasing these is beyond me at this point.

Any news on Willow?

Why would anyone want Whip My Hair video on blu-ray?

Yeah, I know it's Sony. (As is Willow from his list... he had all sorts of studios there.) Actually, I would expect both Krull and Willow sooner rather than later... those will be fun to have.

Don't know what the story is w/Ladyhawke. That's a Warner title but is now OOP on DVD.

Anyone know where Beastmaster currently resides? Anchor Bay had it for a while but has lost the rights.

Looking forward to this. Legend is a very beautiful movie and I hope it's done well on Blu.

Will all the extras from the 2002 DVD be included?

So is the director's cut just the German release?

I would guess the German version is the same as the UK Cut which feature the Goldsmith score (the only way to go - that song that ends the US release is so bad, makes you want to punch a child in the face) but with the German mix, that I would guess then features Bennett's voice. His voice was not liked by the studio if I recall the SCOTT Commentary from the DVD so they had his voice dubbed.

so will this be a 2 disc set or will they cram both versions and extras on one disc? This is what I really want to know?

I can't imagine that is going to be the cover. Universal is usually pretty good about leaving the poster art for their catalog titles on blu.

Backdraft, Breakfast Club, Uncle Buck, River Wild, Mummy, Jackal, Traffic, Out Of Africa, Mercury Rising, 8 Mile, Field Of Dreams, Fear and Loathing, Friday Night Lights, Chuck and Larry, Eastern Promises and Carlito's Way all have the poster art.

In the words of Conan: "We shall see."
