Would any of you guys like to buy from me a mint condition copy of the original Japanese Ponyo blu ray? It still retails at $86 (£55) and I would like to offer it for £30 ONO.
If you're interested please PM me or reply to this; if you want i can add the item on eBay and it can be done the proper route with a 'buy it now' etc.
I would attach a picture but it's pointless as the entire thing, packaging, contents and disc are 100% immaculate. if you'd like to check my eBay feedback on this sort of thing, please check my out my history (username also: joelgutheil), where I have sold lots of similar items as mint. I think in terms of shipping, we'll add that on top so i'm happy to ship to anywhere.
Please let me know. Regards

Upgrading to upcoming edition I take it? I'm happy with my cheap just as good UK edition on this title. If it were Nausicca/Laputa, that would be something.

That's right! ;-)

Not much point in keeping it what with the new one coming out. I actually dont like the new covers too much and think they should have carried on with the pictured one like used on Ponyo....

HK versions are Region A, Japan Versions are Region Free (so far). Other difference I'm unsure of.

Starting to consider selling off my two Disney releases (Ponyo and Nausicaa) to start collecting these releases only. I was only going to get Laputa for the Japanese release originally because that is my favourite film and I like being able to enjoy the extras sometimes, but really not liking having to wait for Disney to bring over these and like the quality and style of the Japanese packaging a lot more too. Oh, if only I can understand Japanese so I can enjoy the extras or if these were cheaper.

Waiting for Disney is a nightmare! I've emailed them from time to time letting them know they are only hurting themselves by dragging out these releases, because most of the fans get fed up and just import titles from Japan.

It's been almost 9 months since Laputa and Yamadas were released in Japan, and Disney still has no planned release for them. Hopefully, if we don't get something before the release of Arrietty, they put a few out to coincide with the North American theatrical release. However, by then, the rest of the world will probably have Whisper of the Heart, Howl's Moving Castle, and Tales from Earthsea, so we'll still be behind!

I just broke down and ordered The Borrower as I have not seen the film yet... though it was mainly because of the clothespin (how did I not see this previously?! ). Thankfully there was one more first-press edition left at CDJapan so I grabbed it.
I think I will just grab the Japanese releases from now on since they offer the most language options (even though I will only ever watch the Japanese and Cantonese dubs).

I received my Borrower and Whisper of the Heart today!! These are absolutely gorgeous sets.

I ordered both from CDJapan and my copy of The Borrower came with the hair clip! (seen below as modeled by the partner) - I posted a couple of expanded shots on my blog (linked below)

My copy shipped out earlier yesterday and they also replied to my inquiry regarding the clothespin and they confirmed that it was sent out along with my copy of the movie.
Really glad I got my order in before it sold out.

Anamnesis: Your partner looks great spotting the clothespin / hairpin.

For the 3 releases in Nov + 5 Centimeters Per Second global edition & Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below regular edition, the cheapest I have found (including shipping to US) is $349 from Amazon.jp. Has anyone been able to find those 5 together for cheaper? Thanks in advance.

(She wasn't impressed I called her the partner)

Glad you managed to get the hairpin with your copy of The Borrower!

My Nausicaä and Laputa arrived on Monday!

November is going to be a bit painful on the wallet!
