Guess I'll wait for the American release. Maybe if I'm lucky they will do a 3D version. if it's done the way Lion King and Beauty and the Beat were, the audience will be in for a real treat. Those films in 3D looked better then recent Pixar conversions like Monsters and Nemo

Yeah, I don't think we'll get it. Maybe when and if a new version is released in the US (with lossless audio and more extras) they'll bring that one over.

So I guess, that someone is me, myself and I:

----- Blu-ray #1 ---- Blu-ray #2 (re-issue)

And of course Lnds500, who provided all the screenshots of the first edition!

As one can see, contrasts are very different: the re-issue is slightly darker, but with a higher contrast, better representing the conditions in the forest! It looks very beautiful.
There is still some MPEG-artefacting present, but generally it is less noticeable and even more important, it doesn't flicker anymore! So, I'm happy!

Agreed. People underestimated the 3D these 2D movies can offer. Not even Finding nemo or monsters did a better job in 3D than the two you mentioned, especially Beast.

Unless Tarzan gets a Diamond treatment, I don't think we'd get a 3D re-release sadly. I can see this as a 2-movie collection with its sequel.

So is Disney releasing any more catalog titles next year? Has there been a new list of upcoming Disney Blu-rays for 2014 minus Diamond Editions?

I'm especially waiting for this movie

Well the good thing is that the animated catalogue is running out and we know very little about the 2014 (3 movies so far) releases so I'd expect it next summer with Hercules (?).

Very loose. Somewhat how Walt Disney took many liberties with The Jungle Book compared to the original book.

In fact despite the number of adaptations, the novel of Tarzan has yet to be completely faithfully adapted to screen.
