I did not use SCOP for LADY AND THE TRAMP. In fact, all the information was already posted here, but in bits and pieces.

LADY AND THE TRAMP (2-disc BD & DVD, no digital copy) from Future Shop
- PM SDM at $19.99
- minus $8.00 for manufacturer's coupon
- minus $10.00 coupon for THE MUPPETS (because I plan to buy THE MUPPETS anyway)
--------------------
$1.99

If you are definitely not planning on buying THE MUPPETS, then it would be $11.99.
I would say being forced to buy the Muppets is an obligation to realize the savings you are citing. Otherwise LATT is $12+tax with is a little more comparable to $14.xx all in. Your point on collectible packaging is bang on, if you are into that stuff, the club is not for you. However, it appears you tend to buy both the regular and collectible editions based on previous posts (ie L&TT) so I wouldn't dismiss it altogether. Anyway, it was a good price but maybe a bit misleading like others have suggested.

For those who are trying to start a collection, I can't see you going wrong with the club route. If you have most already, don't join for the sake of collecting upcoming releases, it makes no sense.

I didn't have any Disney releases so the club made perfect sense for me! I'd be tempted to quit and join again but there aren't enough titles to make it worthwhile.

Your logic is flawed and math wasn't done properly.

So...you got Lady and the Tramp for $1.99. Ok.
When Muppets comes out, it will be $29.99. Wether you apply the $10 coupon on your L&tT or Muppets, it's still ends up that you are paying $32 for both.
($1.99 + $29.99) or ($11.99 + $19.99)

And you won't be able to PM the Muppets because you cannot combine the $10 FS coupon with a PM or DMR coupon (as stated on the FS receipt) therefore you are stuck paying the full price of the Muppets if you apply the $10.

It's like when you buy something at the grocery store and it's buy 2 get 1 free. You can't just say "hey, i got this free from the grocery store! Best deal ever!"

So you didn't technically pay $2 for one movie. You bought two movies that cost you $32. Therefore $16 each.
$14.25 a movie is still cheaper at DMC.

Again, you're comparing YMMV deals to the DMC.
Those are just examples of stores allowing price matches and combining coupons (also when DMR had $10 coupons, now reduced to $5).
I too got most of my first Disney titles $15-18 when the DMR coupons were starting up but times have changed in the past year and the prices of new release titles seem higher and the coupons keep getting reduced.

I got Dumbo for $12 and change but that was being lucky thanks to the SCOP and DMR coupon.

I just don't go bragging it's a better deal because I got lucky.

In the end, the better deal is the DMC per movie if you don't want any hassle with PMs, coupons and cross your fingers a pricing error will occur when buying it from retail stores.

($1.99 + $29.99) or ($11.99 + $19.99)
Sorry, it is your math and logic which is flawed. Allow me to spell it out for you.

(1) buy LATT for $11.99

(2) done.

In other words, if you don't want THE MUPPETS, you have ZERO obligation to buy it. You can feed your coupon to your dog if you like, and walk away with a new Disney BD for $11.99.

My other alternative (LATT with THE MUPPETS) also still stands, but is slightly more complicated. Don't feel like getting into it again because I have a feeling someone will be coming along soon wanting to get this thread back on track.

QED.

And the other poster is right. If you don't have a lot of Disney movies already, it is possible to score a deal on DMC, but otherwise, YMMV.

I never doubted you on getting L&tT for $12. It's the $2 that is misleading.

You got L&tT for $12 with PM and coupon. Both big time YMMV because 1) the Rexall PMd price was for the DVD case version. My local BB refused to PM it because that version did not match the coupon 2) the $8 coupon was meant for the more expensive of the 3 versions released, again, YMMV.

But then you will buy Muppets at $30 (average price) and get $10 off. That’s $20.
Grand total of $32.

Or to summarize better:

$30 Muppets
$20 L&tT
-$8 DMR coupon
-$10 Muppets coupon
= $32 out of your pocket

Right, but you were bragging about getting L&tT for $1.99 which really is not the final price you are paying for the movie.

Pleasantly surprised to see LK 1.5 and 2 sitting at the door today. Neat Lenticular card as well. One more selection to go.

Not sure if you are aware or you might have seen this in the US forum but DMR is offering a free blu-ray movie when you enter 2 DMR codes.

http://www.disneymovierewards.go.com...fers/twoforblu

The three movies are

Bridge to Tarabithea
Bug's Life
Tinkerbell

$3.95 for shipping.

I got the same email this morning. I should have kept a couple of codes from my enrollment pack just for this type of situation. I'm going to get the Muppets, but not sure if there is any other BD I'm going to get before it expires.

There's always the Lion King Sequels if you didn't buy the box set. And if you don't want/need those, you have until the end of May to collect another code.

Yeah, I saw those. No interest in paying that much for Direct to Video sequels. Hopefully something will come along.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like much before the promo ends. Maybe an older title you haven't got around to buying yet?

Looks like the potential March Featured Title is up.

When you add Beauty & The Beast 3D to your cart, the price is now $29.95 and I would also assume it will count as 1 towards commitment. Pretty good price for those that don't have it.

I won't be biting as I ordered it from the kids' sale at bn.com a couple weeks ago and got it for $27 US shipped

You'd have to confirm this yourselves, but I called DMC today and the rep mentioned something about a 'free golden book' or other when you purchase Bambi (which is going back to the 'vault' soon). Again, call to confirm, but that seems pretty cool (if the thing isn't total garbage) if true, especially if Bambi counts as a commitment title

I made an order after enrolling which included Bambi. I've received it and didn't get a book.

Well, she mentioned it like it's a promotion, so I'm assuming either it wasn't available when you ordered, or it's not available with enrollment titles.

Greg, if you've seen the book, would you say it's cool at all? i mean, is it a kid's item, a collector's item, both? or is it so crappy it's neither?

The golden books are usually small cheap kids' book with a hard cover. They usually cost under $5 to buy them. There might be several variants of a Bambi golden book, but here's one example at amazon.

So has anyone used this trick and got your enrollment package in the mail with everything you ordered? Very tempted to sign up...

Anybody have opinions to share on the Tinkerbell movies? Any good?

i finally figured it out, and i will share it with you. if this is against the rules please delete my post Mr. / Ms. Mod

do the code thing.. 19215D or whatever it was (can't quite recall) to get 5 movies for $2.

(don't forget to get the two bonus ones)

but first...

go to this link

then change the catentryId portion of the URL when viewing a movie, and put in the "Website's Item Number" (from the link i just gave you) for the movie you want.

i.e., here's the URL i get when viewing the Winnie the Pooh DVD

https://disneymovieclub.go.com/webap...ew&catentryId=15001

see the numbers i put in bold?

change those to your item number.

so, to get the blu-ray of Winnie the Pooh, for example, you'd have....

https://disneymovieclub.go.com/webap...tentryId=14991

now keep in mind this trick won't work for everything. i tried including the Tron 2-movie set, as well as the Up 4-disk with Lunox or whatever gift set, and my total came to about $160.

also, since i haven't actually finished and/or recieved an order, i'm not sure if this will work in the end (nor am i certain of any karmic reprecussions one gets from stealing from the poor company! )

so try this at your own risk. i was personally able to get Winnie the Pooh 3-disk blu combo and even the 3-disk Lady and the Tramp, but i don't know if Disney would later catch on or not, and i was also having problems when trying to add more 'unlisted' films (like Monster's Inc)

good luck!

Yes the trick works. If it didn't you would have heard all about it.
