I hate that I have seen this thread because I will now have to get this. I love Hitchcock and have been wanting to own a large collection of his. My brother has a lot of his films, but now that he is moving out I have to fill the void. I'm amazed at some people on here that haven't seen any of them, or only a few, since Hitchcock is essential film viewing. And moreso that they would pay so much for it even if they haven't. Don't get me wrong, Hitchcock is brilliant but I know a few people that aren't into his style of filming. I'm glad Lifeboat isn't in the set since I already have it

does anyone know if the UK set will be region free? I prefer this over the US set due to the cheaper price and I already own NxNW.

With it being Universal it is highly likely it will be region free, however I'd say its best to wait for someone to confirm and make sure before ordering.

I'm not to fond of the packaging, as it looks like it might take up a bit too much shelf space, and it doesn't really look that appealing.

I would have preferred it if the book was the same size as a regular Blu-ray box set with a sturdy slipcase to house the contents.

I'm loving the UK edition, I think its more classy than the US edition, its much cheaper and does not come with North by Northwest which I already have. So this set is a no brainer for me.

Am I the only one who is really worried by the packaging?

The book style set with the slots for discs at the top isn't doing it for me, especially when there was a similar Doctor Who DVD set in the US last year which got slammed because the packaging was terrible. The discs were difficult to get out and when they did come out they were scratched, and it seems this set will follow in the same footsteps.

It looks great, but unlike Bond 50 is doesn't seem like the discs will be easy to remove, so I'm not sold on this set yet unless the price comes out even more.

Agreed, I preordered the UK set as well. Just hope it is region-free like all of Universal's releases!

I heard that HMV don't issue student discount cards anymore, but the old cards some people have still work, even if out of date.

They really tucked the discs away with that Who set. Is it that difficult to put a hub on a piece of cardboard? Special Edition CD's manage it and so do Studio Canal.

Since it's being released by Universal, I think that it will be safe to assume that it will be region-free.
