Will we ever see older TV shows make it to Blu-ray?

The same can be said for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, with all the crazy costumes, sets, and colors. I'm pretty sure Buck Rogers was shot on film. You can clearly see film damage and debris on the episodes on DVD (they actually look quite good on DVD). And the pilot film was definitely released theatrically because it was a film before it became a tv series.

Battlestar Galactica (1978) was shot on film - the compilation pilot movie is just making its way onto blu-ray this month, so maybe that show has a chance.

Also, Lost in Space. Yeah, cheesy for sure, but very colorful in seasons 2 and 3, and season 1 in black and white would look pretty stunning.

I remember seeing Buck Rogers in theaters when I was a kid. It was a fun theatrical experience.

I didn't know that a Battlestar Galactica movie was being released.

I also saw Buck Rogers in the theatre. Its really just a TV movie that got sent to the theatres. Its not really in the same vein as Flash Gordon.

The DVD Box I have is fine w/ me.

I loved the style and colors on that show not to mention the humor. It would look amazing if it was all shot on film and made it to Blu.

It's very steep (I want to say $600ish) and the very limited reviews I've been able to find haven't been very positive.

My biggest fear is that Universal will eventually do a domestic release and crop them to 16:9. I don't think they'll do that but the cropping of the last few DVD releases makes me nervous.

It's very near the top of my remaining wishlist titles. It's a fantastic show and with even a reasonable amount of care it could look stunning.

My favorite TV Western is The Virginian. But it took many years just to release this one on DVD (and they are still not quite done), and so I doubt it will ever make it to blu...

Seriously? I had no idea. I wonder what the reasoning is behind that? That's a series I would love to own on Blu-ray. It's one of those shows I was able to catch a few episodes here and there, but was never able to watch it religiously. From what I've seen it was amazing, and I'd love to watch it from start to finish.

I'd also like to see one of my favorite shows of all-time on Blu-ray, The Shield.
