They can try as hard as they want but they'll never get a better final girl than Monica Keena in FVJ.

I don't see the point in remaking this unless they are actually getting a good director with a story unlike the rest of the films where they place 5-10 pretty people in a single setting to be killed one-by-one till Jason is finally defeated. That's alright for late-night entertainment, but just continue the damn story if that's all it will be.

Cause it hasn't happened yet in the series and it would rock.

One of the writers/producers talked about a winter setting and some of the cool things they could do with it. Sounded awesome and now that's what fans want.

This found-footage idea will never work -- No one even wants it. If they want to make something good, they should try to emulate parts 3 and 4. Or Jason in the snow. But, not this found footage nonsense. Personally, I have never liked a found footage movie... Wise up Paramount quick and toss this idea in the can and fire the executive who came up with it! I know the reason for it: they are trying to repeat the success of Paranormal Activity. Well, that series is almost dead theatrically as the grosses keep going down, not up. Best to come up with a new idea and quick. The Paranormal Activity movies won't even be remembered in a good way down the road.

The found footage idea was never officially was an idea. It was one of very very many things as a way to bring back Jason way before it was decided they were going forward with a 13th film. I don't think we'll have to worry about a found footage film.

I think Paramount confirmed that it will be found footage.

I wouldn't be against a found footage Jason film as long as it's done properly, so not the way Cloverfield or Chronicle were done.

From the article "New 'Friday the 13th' Confirmed To Be Found Footage And Another Reboot"

Quote:
This past Tuesday we brought you news that Paramount has locked in a release date for the next Friday The 13th film in the franchise and that Jason Voorhees indeed will be returning to the big screen very soon. It has left fans wondering what to expect for the next film, and with rumors of a found footage film swirling since September 2011 and Adam Green's recent podcast confirming Paramount's desired direction of the film, we had a feeling it was going down the shaky cam route. Well, we have some solid information for fans to dig on, and it is sure to produce some mixed reaction.

According to HitFix, they have confirmed through their sources that not only is the next film going to be Found Footage, but they have also confirmed what Exhibitor Relations eluded to in a tweet on Tuesday, that the next film will indeed be another reboot to the franchise. In fact, the HitFix article emphatically states their displeasure that the new film seems to be a stand alone film only as well a reboot. Of course, we are only in the beginning stages of the process and many things could change, but at this time a first draft script does not seem to be turned in yet, and a Director and actors have yet to be signed.

I would be. I hate the genre. Chronicle sucked ass, if you ask me. I have been avoiding Cloverfield.

Seriously? Can't Paramount make any horror movies that aren't an idiot in front of a camera and cheap jump-scares?

My hatred of found footage. It's the same reason I haven't gotten around to Blair Witch yet. And that's been sitting on my shelf since mid-September.
