He's filming an international film called Dragon Blade currently with John Cusack and Adrien Brody..don't know how that'll do :/

But he's done a couple good HK films since then (and a few lame ones)

So hopefully he won't be busy :/

I just can't believe they are planning another one. I thought the first one was supposed to be it. People seem to like them though.

It was a planned trilogy but money talks, Avi Lerner is going ahead with a sequel with Sly or not. This is Sly's main money maker.

I read that hulk hogan confirmed on his twitter account that he's going to be in the fourth movie.

Without Sly maybe they'd actually give some of the other actors something to do.

Kinda like the Resident Evil films. They include all the other character like Jill, Barry, Chris, Leon, etc. and they are characters in name only. They don't get to do anything. Alice does it all.

Stallone has brought back most of all his co-stars or supporting players from his films w/in the Expendables series. But there still are a few notables left that can get in on the action so to speak.

Billy Dee Williams - co-star from Nighthawks
Rutger Hauer - co-star from Nighthawks
Michael Caine - co-star from Victory and Get Carter (2000)
Dolly Parton - co-star from Rhinestone
Tom Sizemore - co-star from Lock-Up
Donald Sutherland - co-star from Lock-Up (long shot possibility)
Sonny Landham - co-star from Lock-Up
Kurt Russell - co-star from Tango & Cash
Michael Rooker - co-star from Cliffhanger
Sharon Stone - co-star from The Specialist
James Woods - co-star from The Specialist
Carl Weathers - co-star Rocky's I-IV ( I really wish this one would happen)

Of course Bill Paxton, Michael Biehn, Danny Glover have all done action rolls in their day and are associated with some iconic 80's films. Not to mention some of the action B-stars like Michael Dudikoff and Cynthia Rothrock.

Kurt Russell has already expressed his views on the expendables series and sadly isnt interested. He is pretty much the last "80s/90s" action star I want in the series and maybe Seagal if he lost weight. The more expendables films the harder it is going to find older action stars that everybody recognises.

They all get older eventually, so maybe we'll see Tom Cruise, Liam Neeson, Eddie Murphy, Donnie Yen, etc all get on the Expendables band wagon

Honestly, there are a lot of actors I wouldn't expect to want to come anywhere near an Expendables sequel. Someone like Tom Cruise would probably just make his own movie and ask Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr., Liam Neeson, Russell Crowe, Kurt Russell, Matt Damon, etc. to join him.

It could horribly hurt ticket sales or actually help. I hope it helps, but I'm doubtful.
