Many of those are two part which were run back to back (wed/Thurs)
so it's more like 50 episodes. Season three had a few one episode story lines and there were at least two three episode story lines.

Hollywood Reporter says both Blu-ray and DVD releases

If DC was ashamed of tarnishing the name of Batman, the Schumacher films wouldn't be out on blu ray.

I am super excited for this but I just hope that the episodes are uncut and that we don't get any digital blurs in the window scenes because they couldn't or refused to get all of the rights sorted out.

Exactly. And they wouldn't release a comic book done in the style of the show like they recently did. And they wouldn't approve merch in the style of the show which they recently did.

If I had to guess what magically resolved the rights issue I'd say that the Dozier estate saw all the money everyone else was making on the merch and realized the clock was ticking on large-scale physical media releases and finally relented on more reasonable terms.

I'm a little skeptical that a publication as large as The Hollywood Reporter would've run that as the headline without checking first.

No chance. Movies, sure. Can't you understand how preventatively expensive it is to transfer stuff at 4K? No way they have a 4K master of this entire three-season TV show. It's not a common practice at the moment. People have pointed out that HD masters have existed for the show for awhile, so that further lowers the likelihood that they're 4K as masters in 4K are still a relatively new process.

They must have had to pay off Fox. Would they also make 4k scans of an old TV show that basically takes the piss out of their most lucrative brand? And then sell it in a massive 20 disc box-set that might cost nearly $300? I'm not so sure.

Again - I hope you're right but I'm not looking forward to the disappointment if it goes the other way.
Friends is NOT more popular than Batman, Smarty.

Here is what I know about the Batman television show. The HD transfers are already done, they look great. It's not going to be cheap, either.

There's no need to be insulting. I didn't say anything rude to you.

And you're wrong, into the bargain. You may not like it but FRIENDS is a much more popular show. You don't have to be smart to know that, though it's kind-of sweet you think you do.

Friends more popular than this Batman TV series? Yes
Friends more popular than Batman in general? No

But to be fair, the Batman tv theme is still more popular than I'll be there for you.

Friends was a great show if its time. And on folks recent memory.

Batman TV show is timeless and still gets referenced today. The new comic, The Brave and The Bold, Adam West's Simpson's role.

Friends will not have the lasting power of Batman's TV show.

I'd say the impact Batman had in the 60's is greater than that of Friends in the 90s.

We can play the "how do we measure" that game.

Batman competed against less channels. Friends is during cable.
