This will have been an expensive project and it can't be relied on to sell terribly well with the general public. I'm not sure we can count on a Blu-ray release. WB might test the waters on DVD before going HD on it.
Obviously, I hope I'm completely wrong on that. Still terrific news, however it comes about. ![]() |

Very good news.
UK TV has been repeating the whole series end to end for a while now so I recorded all of them and edited the adverts out. The result looks a lot better than the US TV broadcast ones my brother 'obtained' - must be down to the PAL format over NTSC? I cant see DVD's looking much better than what Ive got to be honest. Blu's is a different thing altogether of course - the Batman movie (1966) looks great on blu! ![]() |

How much do yall speculate this costing. in a Bluray set?
Three Seasons....One hour episodes(minus commercials). Maybe various associated specials, interviews, commentaries and hopefully great packaging. $100? 20 per season = 60 + extras.....Deluxe or Barebones packaging or both versions. Naked box version or Deluxe version w/ bells and whistles. |

I forsee a $200-250 MSRP, probably going for 179.99 when intially released, then going for more, then at some point (maybe a year or so later) going for around $100 during some kind of sale. A price point more in line with the Star Trek original series release.

They must have had to pay off Fox. Would they also make 4k scans of an old TV show that basically takes the piss out of their most lucrative brand? And then sell it in a massive 20 disc box-set that might cost nearly $300? I'm not so sure. Again - I hope you're right but I'm not looking forward to the disappointment if it goes the other way. |

DC isn't ashamed of this series and has been fine releasing much more embarassing things featuring the character. They also aren't out to stop companies like Sony (who owns the much more-embarassing Batman serials) Fox (Batman: The Movie) and MGM (who owns the Swamp Thing film) from releasing films featuring their characters. If Fox did own it DC or Warner wouldn't be in much position to stop a release nor would they be inclined to. All you need to know about what has prevented this release up to this point is that the same producers also produced Green Hornet and that has never been released on DVD either. Its not Warner or DC or Fox that has held this up. |
