Amazon.co.uk has a listing for this at 15 pounds. It says Region B but they also say they will ship to Canada, which is Region A, so a bit of a mixed message there.

Well, it's not really a mixed message as such. Amazon.co.uk will ship pretty much anywhere irrespective of any region locks. They're not going to prevent you buying a disc if it's region locked but you need to check what you're buying first.

EDIT: Amazon also tend to put "Region B" on all UK Blu-Rays even if they're not locked. The only way to know for sure is if there's a shot of back of the packaging or if someone else can confirm one way or the other. Pretty much all the Entertainment One releases appear to be locked so it's pretty likely that this one will be as well.

Amazon does that to all international orders.
I live in Singapore and whenever I order any Blu-rays or DVDs from Amazon, they will always remind me that the discs from the US are Regions A and 1 and may not work on my player. I'd imagine the same with all Amazon outlets. Even though Singapore Blu-rays are Region A too.

Basically, it's just covering its arse and they won't issue a refund if they you ordered something that you cannot play because of a conflicting region code.

With this film expected soon in the US for blu ray 2D (August 2014), it's seeming unlikely that Buena Vista will choose to release this one in 3D at a later time like they are planning for the US release of Frozen; Frozen being the huge box office hit and Need for Speed doing pretty good world wide, but not so good in the US. With Disney's new approach to cutting costs for the sake of their new investments in Star Wars and Marvel (both great things), I think they're letting 3D slide off for some films when they can. I hope I got it wrong.

My Entertainment Store Steelbook has been posted so hopefully I'll have this by the weekend. I cannot wait to finally see this movie and check out the 3D.

that's why i don't want to risk buying the 3d version from the UK because it's most likely region B locked, so i went ahead and pre-ordered the 3d version from Hong Kong instead because it's region A.

So, one week from release date, it is still safe to assume that the only confirmed Region A 3D Blu release of this film are from Hong Kong, Brazil and Mexico, correct?

What is the cheapest price this can this can be acquired for?

Yes, I'm to-the-point, lazy, and tired about no US release for this and "Legends of Oz"!

The release date for the 3D version in Hong Kong is July 22nd, the cheapest price is $29.49 on dddhouse.com, the shipping cost is $3.85, after all that it comes down to $34.43.
Looks like you're not the only one who is mad about this.

The j-card for the steelbook shows it's Region B, so the regular 3D release will be the same.

Nice. I wish it was cheaper. The steelbook cost double the price of the regular 3D blu on the group buy thread, so im sticking with the regular 3d version.

Your right bought it today and even though it said B on the disc I tried it anyway in my Region A player but locked to Region B.

Yeah, overseas in support of the 3D, while the US 3D version nowhere in sight and unlikely any time soon.

It's a small bummer. It's only a week and not a month. So no problems there. Shipping from Hong Kong to Singapore should be fairly fast. Compared to Amazon US.
