Nothing to worry about then; that's one of the best looking Blu-rays I own.

So the VHS, 2005 Anchor Bay remaster, and HD transfers are three different cuts of the film then? I have the DVD from ten years ago. Is there a breakdown of the differences, and which might be considered definitive? (I'd imagine the HD version.)

I missed out on the indie gogo campaign and I had no idea that it was being offered somewhere else. I took advantage of the 25% off coupon. Thanks for offering the coupon and letting us know the progress. I am glad to finally have this in my collection. I have never watched it before so I will be watching it for the time.

There's really only ever been one version of the film, but the VHS edition features an insanely long 12-minute end title sequence with an extra song that was chopped down to size for the later releases. (It's also noteworthy for the cheesy '80s-era Commodore Amiga titles.)

The 2005 and 2015 versions are identical in terms of running time, but yeah, a huge difference in picture quality with the 2K restoration. The 2015 versions are also the only ones to include the new original cast mix as well as what we're now calling the "classic dubbed mix".

Last but not least, there are 3 different commentary tracks: A brand-new producers commentary for the 2015 versions, a faux "riff" track for the original VHS, and the original 2005 Anchor Bay commentary for that version.

We generally ship DVD orders in bubble mailers and have had very few problems over the years (and on those rare occasions, are happy to send replacements), but we will be going the extra mile with this release and shipping in sturdier boxes, given the higher cost of the Ultimate Edition.

I'm joining some of the cast & crew at the Capitol Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio tonight for the world premiere of the 2K restored 16:9 master with original cast mix, but if you can't make it, here's a little something to tide you over.

Enjoy!

I know it sounds heretic but would it be it possible to get the Ultimate Edition without the signature? I don't like it if someone scribbles on my BluRay covers

Not at all! If it helps any, the autograph and number stamp will be on the reverse side of the wrap with the classic artwork. But you can always request an extra wrap if you want it squeaky clean! ;-)

That sounds great. You said the autograph is on the classic artwork. Is it on the front or the backcover of the classic artwork?
I think you have won me over What do I have to do in order to order a cover without a signature?
Thanks!

crap, the weak yen and my shitty finances are still making this tough.
You got me. Ordered. Though I was bummed, unlike your post says, it didn't take off from shipping. Not that I would've expected it to otherwise.

The Ultimate Edition has a reversible wrap, with all-new 2015 artwork on one side (which will be facing out when packaged) and the "classic" VHS artwork on the inside, with a space for the autograph and number on it.

If you order from the Tempe Online Store, there's a place to add a message during the Tictail checkout. Just reference this thread with your request and we'll make it happen! Thanks.

Thanks billyearle! But you did get the 25% off... it's just reflected as a discount on the product rather than the shipping, but amounts to the same thing.

Haven't put an expiration date on it just yet, will probably leave it in place at least through Halloween, so you should be A-OK!

Just sent Indiegogo supporters their free VHX Digital HD versions of THE DEAD NEXT DOOR Ultimate Edition, but for those of you can't wait for the Blu-ray or are trying to go all-digital, we're now accepting preorders for the discounted price of only $9.99 thru Halloween, available to watch on Friday, November 13!

Tempe Digital on VHX

Of note, the Digital HD version includes ALL of the content from the 3-Disc Ultimate Edition set, including MP3 versions of the CD soundtrack and PDF versions of the packaging. Insanely cheap for four versions of the movie with loads of extras, but this price is only valid thru the end of October. Thanks!

Thanks JR! I watched the first 5 min and it looks amazing. I had to force myself to turn it off because I want to wait to watch the actual disc. Great work on the transfer. I'm really glad I backed this.

Same here... I'm saving my viewing experience for the Blu ray itself, but am super appreciative of having the chance to watch this for Halloween if I desired.

Also, since it hasn't yet been mentioned...

...."Bonus perk!

I wanted to give everyone a sneak peek at an unannounced — and absolutely FREE — bonus perk that will be arriving with all Ultimate Edition Blu-ray preorders placed here on Indiegogo.

Designed by original logo artist Michael "D.O.C." Porter, those are authentic Zombie Squad Unit 205 embroidered patches shown above, just like the ones on the uniforms worn by the actors in the film. (But much cooler — the ones in the film were painstakingly drawn by hand!) It's even got an iron-on backing for those of you who can't stitch.

We'll have a few extra patches available for sale on the Tempe Online Store beginning next month for those who want extras (or didn't purchase the Ultimate Edition Blu-ray here), so be sure to tell your friends!

In the meantime, enjoy the show and as always, stay sick!
