Truly sorry to sound negative but how do you guys know this is going to be an amazing Set? were screens posted? are all 3 uncut? is it region free? where is this "amazing" coming from?

I certainly hope you guys are all correct, but I still have not seen enough info yet myself to make this claim of being "amazing".

If I am missing something please post the info.

Thanks

Arrow are working on it, not Scream Factory or Anchor Bay. Arrow have already more than proved themselves, so I have no problem having faith in them when I read there press release.

1 and 2 are sure to be uncut. 3 sounds like it could be complicated.

It'll be zone B. What does that have to do with if it'll be amazing or not?

Thanks - I will preorder it from Zavvi. It's about $3 less plus I don't have to pay upfront if I use a credit card. I don't really care about getting it early - I just don't wan to pay now. Actually, if I can order it from Amazon.de or Amazon.fr it's only $55 after the conversion. I think I'll wait to see if these guys will carry it

I'll wait for reviews too. Arrow are as capable as anyone at cocking up. Remember the remastered 'Tenebrae that apparently has thousands of tiny errors'? DNR on Inferno? Missing footage at the beginning of Zombie Flesh Eaters? Blu Undergrounds release of Deep Red destroying Arrows?

Well they are brand new masters. I don't see how they are going to be worse. 2 will either be uncut or the same cut that available everywhere but it will look better. It will be region B locked though. It;s either woeth the money to you or not.

Remember that most of what you're referring to happening during the "old" Arrow and not the Arrow of today. They've corrected ZFE as you must know.

And yeah, it's been confirmed that they'll be doing exchanges for SHIVERS

Bah forgot that one 'Shivers' would have rounded off my post lovely.

I love Arrow, I'm just pointing out they're not perfect and to pre-order with them is just as much of a risk as with anyone else.

That statement is completely untrue. As I mentioned, think Anchor Bay, think Shout Factory.

Edit : 88 Films. Feel free to add to the list.

Nothing at all, just thought I would ask this since I have made a post anyways?

Exactly, this is why I asked, thought I may have missed some info not posted yet.

LOL, I am just asking questions here, I just want to see if I am missing something here is all, believe me I hope you guys saying "amazing" is true because I am all over the Set if true, and of course it is either "worth the money or not" lol, this goes for anyone for anything.

Just trying to find out where all this amazing talk is coming from, I honestly thought I must have missed some announcement or something, now I see I have not.

Thanks for the responses though

People are getting ahead of themselves by judging this release before they've seen it, but it is fair to judge on reputation. Arrow of old was pretty poor, but they listened to their customers (unlike some companies) and they are now almost always excellent. The only releases that have had serious problems recently have been fixed (Zombie Flesh Eaters) or will be (Shivers). They are limited by the source materials, so not all releases have been perfect, but they always seem to get the most out of whatever source they have and regularly beat the competitors in PQ, even Criterion. And all of the scans they have made themselves that I have seen have been excellent (Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday and others), so I have almost no doubt that the Hellraiser films will look equally good.

As for the uncut status, as people have pointed out, the first two films have been uncut in the UK for years, so there's no reason to think they won't be now. Apparently, Clive Barker prefers the R-rated cut of Hellraiser, but I hope Arrow can find the unrated footage for deleted scenes at least. Hellraiser III is more problematic because other releases have used poor-quality sources for the added footage, so it will depend on what Arrow can locate. That's probably why they haven't made an announcement yet. If they can't find the added scenes in good quality, I hope they branch the low-quality stuff to give people the option.

Arrow are so much better now, you don't have to worry about quality. They're on the same level as Criterion (some would argue better due to sometimes better compression, audio/subtitle options).

If it were Shout Factory I would absolutely be concerned. They on the other hand have not listened to complaints like Arrow did.

Right now, today, there is not a single indie label that can be trusted more when it comes to their own transfers than Arrow (Shivers, Tenebrae, Deep Red and Inferno were not Arrow's own transfers, and the ZFE thing was an authoring glitch anyway, and had nothing to do with the transfer). Yes there's always room for some trepidation, but Hellraiser fans could not be more lucky.

I can't wait to get this release!!! I own all 9 of the movies on blu already, and in many cases I own multiple releases of them (Japanese releases, German releases, Italian releases, etc). Still, I am a big fan of ARROW and the fact that these are getting remasters is definitely a reason to dip again.

Often you would be right, but it's pretty normal consumer behavior to trust a person or company when they have a proven track record of excellence. Arrow and Criterion both have just that, so people tend to trust their releases will be excellent.

Which isn't to say they're always perfect, just very, very reliable.

50 quid for this? Think I will wait for the individual releases that will undoubtedly follow.
