Crap! I ordered from Best Buy because the website showed a slipcover while Amazon’s website did not.
It seems like a QUALITY restoration of a movie would take a significant amount of time and tons of money but these older films are being churned out at a rate of several per week. For instance, some 3D conversions took a year and millions of dollars... It makes me feel like we’re being duped and That re-mastering a film is the equivalent of using the 2K—>4K or SDR—> converter on a television of blu-ray. Some conversions were obviously a labor of love but others have questionable. |

I'm not buying UHD titles currently because I don't have the equipment or the funds to upgrade. When I eventually do, which won't be for a while, I'm looking forward to the fact that many of the slips will be gone for the titles I want (like this one) -- it will finally end the madness of slipcover junkies like myself. Just plain black cases lined up on a shelf. There's something comforting about that.

Anyone who chooses not to buy a beautiful restoration of a film they love because it doesn't come with a cardboard slip cover is a damn idiot.

Just to let some people know, The price for the Dracula 25th Anniversary 4k edtion is $19.99 at walmart. I got super lucky today, I went to my local Walmart and they already had the movie out on the shelf. I guess they didn't realize that the movie wasn't going to be out until Tuesday. I got lucky but it's cheaper than amazon's $25.

Most of those were remastered in 4K long ago, they weren’t just put in a program on “auto” and given new scans lazily.
