I'll admit I found him annoying the first time I watched a video, but I've been following him for months now and always use his reviews as the go-to since he keeps it pretty real.
I've seen enough 5-star reviews of Mad Max, Suicide Squad or Watchmen saying it was "an improvement over the blu-ray" or 5-stars going to something like 28 days later (shot on 576p resolution but released on blu-ray) getting high marks because the title is "the best it can/will ever look". When I look at 4K reviews, the actual visual quality is important to me. He'll often compare the 3D and 4K reviews of a title, no matter how bad it is, and be spot-on about the disc itself and not so much the movie besides a few lines reviewing it. |

Maybe you've gotta decode it first?
![]() Or, as I and others said several times before, if you find someone who shares your own taste for what is "good" picture quality and has a similar eye for all the little kinks and foibles of home video then its worth latching on to said person as they will be 100x more invaluable than any random 'pro' reviewer. If people can derive such enlightenment from matey's videos, more power to them. I feel like putting my foot through the screen as soon as he opens his mouth but that's more a reflection of his act rather than his findings (though I'm still puzzled as to what part of Fifth Element got a "2K digital intermediate" as he said). |
