Given the bloodbath is such a striking moment in the film for its use of color, it's well worth having in high quality. Glad I never picked up Shout's disc; I'll import Indicator's for sure.

The audio as well, I watched the Indicator disc last night, and the stereo sequence is very effective with wide separation. In fact, it created the sort of pseudo surround effect sound bars do even though I had my receiver set to plain 2.0 stereo. It's meant to be seen as part of the film, and the Indicator disc lets you do that with all audio options as part of the film, whereas the Shout just as the mono in the film and the other audio as extras.

Honestly, for fans of the film, the UK version is the only real choice. The Shout just lacks that extra, important care which makes all the difference in the presentation of a gimmicky film. No doubt they'd have done seat buzzers if it was practical!

For someone with a few mechanical skills, they could set up a few seat buzzers in their home viewing area. Maybe use it for other films as well.

Likely, with the Indicator Blu-ray, one could fully re-create the theatrical experience in their home.

I bought the Indicator set and am glad I went that route. But I do wish they included the bonus audio of The Tinglers 45 like the Shout Factory Bluray does - I've been looking for that 45 for ages and no luck (it's not cheap either, when one does show up).

Do you mean the 78? That's on the Indicator disc.

Noticed last night that both of these movies are now available through Best Buy. Their listings show a release date of September 11 but I was still checking for them there out of curiosity as recently as a couple weeks ago, and I never saw them until just last night, so I don't know when they were actually added. Has anybody seemed to figure out what the apparent window is between Scream's release dates and when titles become available on other retrailer websites besides Amazon? BB still doesn't have Return of the Living Dead 2 and that came out a week before these.

some of these can be had at Bullmoose for $17.99 to $19.99. Stait-Jacket is at Hamilton Books for $15.95.... they also have ROTLD2 for under $15....

who needs Amazon and Best Buy?

Based on post 50 in this thread, it's the song and not the Vincent Price lobby spot. Quoted from post 50:

My favorite extra on this disc is the audio track that was intended to be played in theater lobbies. It's a wonderfully bad rock 'n' roll song called "The Tingler." The vocalist sounds like Lurch from the TV series THE ADDAMS FAMILY, backed up by a late-1950's swingin' combo.

In answer to my own quote above, the singer had been the voice of Tony the Tiger in the cereal TV commercials. It wasn't Ted "Lurch" Cassidy.

I think Vincent Price's voice is also heard during that "Tingler" rock 'n' roll song.

I just listened to it, it's not just the song, it's the entire lobby spot.
It's listed as 3:00 minutes on the Indicator disc, and 2:39 on the Shout disc.
The Indicator box set, as per usual, is amazing and worth the import.

Thanks everyone for helping to clear this up. For reference, below are the two records, the first is the theater lobby spots (as on the Blu-rays), the 2nd is the song I was hoping would be included:

So, so glad that I waited for the Indicator Castle boxset. Indicator is so far ahead of Shout!, it would be funny if it weren't so sad. Another league entirely, and they will be getting my money from now on. They've proven to be the superior company far too many times for it to be mere coincidence. As they say, "It's great to have choices," and Shout's laziness and shoddiness becomes wearisome and patently evident when we see that Indicator doesn't *settle* like Shout but has always gone the extra mile to please fans. They care about these niche releases!! Thanks.

The screw-up this time is Shout's "wasting" a BD-50 by filling the disc to only 25800 MB and not going the extra mile to properly source the moneyshot scene of the film, the color blood bathtub scene... Wow, we really needed those 'extra 800 MB' to get the encode from 24 mbps to 25 mbps instead of a more appropriate 40 mbps considering we had the space to burn...

Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome, Indicator it will be, from now on... May they continue to keep the bar of quality releases high where it should be kept. Love those BD-50s, 40 mbps encodes, and A-grade untinkered releases... The real dope, to which I'm addicted. No shenanigans

Really only dropping in here to inquire about Strait-Jacket. Thinking of just getting the shout disc. Is the Indicator transfer from the WC volume 2 set much better or nearly the same? There's not enough in that vol. 2 set to justify me buying it for basically one film.

The Indicator has one shot in HD, that's SD on the Shout. Forget where I saw this mentioned now.

I did just this. Indicator may be negligibly better with higher bit rates than Shout, but that wasn’t enough (at least for me) to want to own the other films in that Volume 2 set.

I believe that the Indicator release of STRAIGHT-JACKET is locked to region B, if that's an issue. I'm sure that's because of the Scream Factory disc in the US.

The other films in the volume two of Castle are probably playable in region A.

Any chance you're thinking of THE TINGLER, rather than STRAIGHT-JACKET? THE TINGLER has a partial color sequence that was restored for HD by Indicator.

I haven't heard of a unique HD shot in Indicator's STRAIGHT-JACKET.
