As long as it is the director's cut. I disliked it the first time since the Director's cut had not come out yet. Of course it did not help that is was released so close to Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and in both movies Orlando Bloom was a blacksmith except in Pirates he had a pirate father and in KoH he had a Knight's Templar father.

I do wish KoH had the true ending instead of the happy Hollywood ending but i get why they changed it.

Watching Black Rain now. Looks pretty good to me. Bit of digital noise but I'm not seeing DNR. Detail and contrast are pretty strong.

There is a load of DNR, that doesn't always mean it leaves it looking baby-smooth, it's what is leaving all that frozen digital shite behind. Stupendously fugly disc IMO.

It's an old, old scan with DNR and frozen clumpy nasty grain mess everywhere.
It's a right off

The DC is the only one I’ll watch, outside of maybe the Roadshow DC version.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl came out in 2003, while Kingdom of Heaven came out in 2005 (I double checked this one to be sure). So Pirates was first by 2 years. I guess that's close.

Black Rain, Curse of the Black Pearl...

We're just going to talk about any movie with "Black" in the title until the movie comes out, won't we?

I really thought Men In Black was fantastic on UHD. But that's Sony for you.

It's the better Scott film with Black in the title for me

Reading recently last week's (October 4, 2018) NYT op-ed (which many fans of this picture won't like) entitled "The Lessons Of Black Hawk Down" reminded me that it's the 25th anni of the failed Aidid capture operation. I'm just now seeing that that's referred to in the title and first sentence of the Military.com piece linked to in the first post. Doh!

I wonder if Sony gave that site the scoop given the anni. Seems a stretch as a promo opportunity for a street date eight months into the future. But I've historically found hardware and software at the PX/BX that I don't see elsewhere and at great prices. The military market is likely a factor here. Wonder if Warner will do some trippy American Sniper UHD BD tie-in when Star Is Born streets.

I saw Pirates of the Carribean on video so probably 2004 that is still a difference of a year, but it was same actor with the same setup. I will say KoH was the better of the two.

It turned into a debacle for sure costing a lot of lives and led to the US pulling out of Somalia, but Operation Irene accomplished its objective. The top lieutenants of Adid's militia WERE captured, which was the goal.

Where did you get that? What I saw is “Two-disc set (1 BD-100, 1 BD-50)”...
