It would be great if they released the original cut of I'll Do Anything. The film was shot as a musical with eight songs by Prince but then the music numbers were edited out due to poor test screenings.

I adore the theatrical version of I'll Do Anything--it's one of my most-wanted titles on Blu-ray--but including the original musical version with the Prince songs would be next-level.

As much as I'd love to see it, the musical version of "I'll Do Anything" was cost-prohibitive in the heyday of DVDs, let alone with home video being "dead". I don't even think the studio would be willing to re-invest that much reconstructing a hit movie, let alone a low grosser like this.

I wonder if Sony have in their vaults an HD print of Sing (1989), a TriStar film. If yes this film needs a Blu-Ray release... Because it hasn't been released anywhere outside of VHS.

Excellent news on Troop Beverly Hills. It has only been released once in the world before, very briefly in the US, but it was part of Sony's line of defective "black crush" titles in early 2015, and like the other catalog titles, it was never corrected. It's been OOP for ages and has been commanding high prices. This new release will presumably correct the crushed blacks, if so I'll be picking it up.
Excited to see Pacific Heights too! I broke down and bought the DVD about a year or so ago, because I figured it would never hit BD. Funny that I'll have owned a Twentieth Century-Fox VHS, a Warner Bros DVD and a Sony BD of this title. ![]() Last edited by James Luckard; 06-13-2019 at 04:00 AM. |

Hope they will release The Pledge, 3000 Miles to Graceland and Heist to Blu-Ray, those are others Morgan Creek titles.
And I'd hope for a Blu-Ray release of Sing 1989 which is a TriStar film. And what about releasing made-for-TV movies from their vaults ? Sony have many HD prints of old made-for-TV movies, and often airing on the Sony Movie Channel. Last edited by GordonQuid; 06-13-2019 at 07:27 AM. |
