Try doing some actual research on the extent of his predatory behavior. Dude was deliberately seeking out underage girls for more than just online "messaging". Who knows what else he did in person. Anyone with a pattern like this definitely has more skeletons in his closet.

No 40 year old guy should be messaging a 16 year old, asking her to meet up, and make out. PERIOD. I'm tired of the bullshit excuses people make online for dirt bags like this. And that's from someone who enjoyed his past comedy specials. Cancel culture can no doubt get out of hand, but it's not an all or nothing thing. Cancel culture can absolutely help in cases where some people would otherwise get away with shit, just like they used to in the past.

I don't want to speak for him, but I think he was slighting Monterey Jack and others complaining about PC culture, when this was in fact a legitimate and reprehensible action on the part of Chris D'Elia.

I mean, you could tell the desert scene was a reshoot because of the obvious green screen on Plummer, but that's understandable considering the unique location of the scene and the little time they had to work with. Besides that, you're right that it was a complete work of magic to pull off that actor change and reshoot in that amount of time and still make the fast approaching December release date. Helps that they got the director's original choice for the role (Scott wanted Plummer from the start, Sony demanded Spacey) and an actual old man for the role (instead of the god awful make up on Spacey).

The only thing that won't show in the final product, is a pedophile.

If you look at the original trailer with Spacey, that scene always looked fake. But you’re right, it’s the only dubious bit of the film, and if you had no knowledge of the BTS drama, you wouldn’t really question it.

Yeah, that shot in the desert was the only moment where I thought it was apparent that anything had been reshot. Everything else was seamless to my eyes and I'm amazed at how quickly all involved had managed to salvage the film. Sir Riddles is a mad man.

Well there it is. Monterey Jack just took the prize for dumbest post of the week. That's no small feat either since I frequent the X-Men and Star Wars threads. Pedophilia doesn't matter to him, because it's silly and movies shouldn't be changed.

Honestly a good move to replace him. I never liked the guy... it's ironic because I will always remember him as the child predator from Workaholics. He deserves to be cancelled.

I only don't like cancel culture when they cancel people based off of a bad day or two in their entire lives. But pedophilia? **** no! You can't defend that.

Well, someone who posts this kind of stuff obviously can, I guess.

Ephebophilia and pedophilia are not the same thing, but creeping with unwanted advances towards someone is wrong no matter the age of the victim. Modern society has also drawn the line at 18, so that also factors in.

Tig Notaro is awesome. Big upgrade.

No wonder Chris D’Elia was so good in You on Netflix.
