I was held back by exactly those questions/concerns, too.

Once you join AND place your first free order, you can choose any selection including 4k on your next order. It becomes very easy and self explanatory.

Just make sure you see the "coupon codes" that allow you increase your 4 free selections to up to 9, and use the one best for you. Disney had very little I like that I didn't already have, so I choose the lower.

As soon as you join, FIRST you must choose your 4 to 9 free 1080p blu rays (4k is not among the free choices). Also, some blu's are MEMBERS ONLY and you can NOT choose those in your free choices, either.

Once you're past that and place your first order, you get to see EVERYTHING Disney offers and can order anything.

From then on, first blu in your cart of next purchase is full price, all others 60% off.

I was sneaky, and bought extra copies of "exclusives" (only Disney members can buy) of the baby boomer era (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Castaways, Old Yeller, Swiss Family Robinson, etc) and sold them on ebay. The baby boomer era Disney member exclusives sell for the best $ because they don't want to deal with the hassle of membership and have money.

I made a small bit of $, but there is a bit of "work" planning it out. My motivation wasn't to make money but to get a handful of titles I really wanted, w/o paying crazy ebay prices.

And now I lucked out with Disney releasing Star Wars 4k, so now I'm done and my required purchases over the 18 months (or is it 2 yrs?) are fulfilled and I can walk away...with everything I wanted to get already.

Still getting this despite the changes. The SE edits are minimal unlike Star Wars.

It doesn’t. The initial selection is pretty weak since most of us already own the Disney titles that we really want to own. You end up just picking up crap that you don’t want. Kind of a waste. Sure, you get the Star Wars films at a discount afterwards, allegedly, but then what’s after that? Will I find things to buy? I may or may not.

I’d be doing this just to get the SW discs for less. I guess I’m ok just buying them through the usual channels and paying a little more. It’s a one time thing. And I can sell the digital codes and recoup a few bucks. It frees me from the hassle and screwing around with Disney which is worth something to me. Someone said if you call and do it over the phone that there is more selection but I dont really feel like doing that either. Oh well. Can’t they just sell them to everyone for $20?

Amazon shows this as the back of the Blu-ray. I would imagine the 4K would be identical, but with the addition of Atmos?

Did amazon finally list the Empire 4K for pre-order? I am unable to locate a listing on there.

The Nordic release shows a Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 track. I hope this is also the case with the Australian releases.
The Dolby AtMouse English track on The Last Jedi sounds thin and lifeless while on my Pioneer SC LX-76 AVR (a 2012 9.1 pre-Dolby Atmos receiver) the 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus sounds better dowmixed to 5.1 on my receiver. This may also be the case with these new releases, we all know how Disney Dolby AtMouse tracks sound.

Did Amazon take their preorder down? I swear they had one up for a while. I’ve been waiting for Best Buy to have them all available for preorder. It’s weird there isn’t one when the release date is supposedly two weeks away.

They never had a pre order for ESB.

Nobody should be buying Disney releases from Amazon unless they are importing from the US. You are only setting yourself up for disappointment if they take preorders for stock they might not get in time for launch.

I wonder if Disney would eventually postpone the releases because of the carnivorous.

Why would people who eat meat be responsible for a home video being released?

Depends what type of meat. No worries if it's a steak, much worries if it's the neighbors.

Anyone know the prices of the original films in 4K on Disney Movie Club in Canada? I was thinking of signing up just to get them.
