I doubt it, but I hope Amulet gets shown at my local cinema. I saw Nightmare Alley last week (very good). HMV used to price-match Amazon UK and the label (in this case, Second Sight Films), and I would sometimes get a new title in my local HMV. But I noticed Session 9 was more expensive instore (and I'm not talking £1 difference), and I bet it's the same with Censor (which I've been wanting to get myself). |

The films on this week's edition of The Film Review (cinema, DVD, Blu-ray and streaming releases), presented by Jane Hill and Mark Kermode (in the BBC Television Centre studio):
- The Eyes of Tammy Faye - Jackass Forever - Moonfall - Best out: Amulet - Physical media: Encanto (animated film). It's only early February, but a contender for most entertaining film review this year has to be Mark Kermode's review of Moonfall. I was creased up (and Jane Hill's response was priceless). |

The films on this week's edition of The Film Review (cinema, DVD, Blu-ray and streaming releases), presented by Jane Hill and Mark Kermode (in the BBC Television Centre studio):
- Death on the Nile - Flee (animated documentary) - Marry Me - Best out: The Souvenir Part II - Physical media: The Story of Film: A New Generation. Mark Kermode's review of Marry Me was entertaining, but nowhere near as entertaining and funny as his review last week of Moonfall. ![]() |

I've never seen the point in having a horror film reviewed by someone who despises them. Reminds me of a film critic many, many years ago in one of the daily newspapers (don't remember her name or which paper it was), but she never had a good word to say for any horror picture. This for me made her reviews totally meaningless. She should have just stuck to reviewing chick flicks and rom-com's as it would appear that was all she was interested in. |

![]() Nope, she was just poor on the whole. Jane Hill gets a bit too enthusiastic, which is no bad thing. Reeta just seemed disinterested all the way through. So the film Marry Me is even worse than Moonfall in Kermodes opinion. Wow - it must be really bad. ![]() |

Mark Kermode didn't like Marry Me much, but disliked Moonfall even more. That review of Moonfall didn't make me want to see it to see how bad it was. But it was so entertaining, it was a very welcome mental boost.

Well he did state if he / anyone had to watch one between Moonfall and Marry Me - then he would pick Moonfall.
I'm sure the audio mix on Moonfall will make up for how crap the story is. ![]() |

- Dog (the cast including Channing Tatum) - Old Henry (western; streaming only) - Here Before - Best out: Flee (animated documentary) - Brief mention: The Real Charlie Chaplin. I was hoping Kimi (directed by Steven Soderbergh) was going to be featured (had a quick look at a review of it in today's 'i' newspaper). |

Not sure yet whether there will be a new edition of The Film Review this week, due to a certain news story. As of last night, the edition scheduled to be shown earlier was removed.
Update: Have been checking the BBC iPlayer since last Friday night, and there is no new edition on there for last week. Two of the new films which came out in UK cinemas last week were Cyrano and The Duke. Last edited by OceanBlue; 03-01-2022 at 08:43 PM. Reason: Added update. |

Later on yesterday, I noticed that tomorrow afternoon's/evening's new edition of The Film Review has been removed from the schedules. I think this week's new UK cinema releases include The Batman.
