Oh yeah, for sure, but definitely by First Strike you get the idea they’re just using the name for marketing purposes like the following two films.

Looking forward to this set. I first saw Winners and Sinners on TNT in 1998 with a number of other HK Jackie films and liked it the least of them all - I was only 12 at the time - but I did enjoy My Lucky Stars well enough on The Criterion Channel this past year and the copious clips of the other two on various releases are quite enticing.

Just ordered my copy direct from Eureka so I have to say I'm looking forward to diving into these films for the first time. All of Eureka's Hong Kong output has been top-notch and I've enjoyed them all so far.

Anyone know if this won't make it to Amazon for pre-order for any reason? Not seeing on their site.

I’m guessing it’s just a delay. Hopefully it’ll be up on there soon

I hope so. Would love to get this pre-ordered sooner rather than later and prefer to order from Amazon really.

It's actually pretty good. Lockdown, on the other hand, is garbage.

Funny about PS3 and PS4 feeling like standalone films, considering that Dimension and New Line were respectively banking on that here in the US, lol. Though they inadvertently reconnected First Strike with the first two Police Story films when those two films got their own VHS and laserdisc releases using J. Peter Robinson's First Strike score!

And sounds like you also watched that "Chan-O-Rama" TNT marathon when Rush Hour came out They basically snagged a bunch of Tai Seng/Media Asia masters, and I vaguely remember them showing not only W&S but also Young Master, Dragons Forever, Wheels on Meals and Heart of Dragon. Hell, I'm pretty sure that was the first time those latter three played on US TV!

As for the Lucky Stars set (figured I should walk back a bit since I added to the tangent, lol), still tweaking a few last minute things to fill it out even more

I still remember the commercial bumpers from Jackie: “We are gonna kick it! Jackie Chan style!”

Yep! It was awesome and one of my key formative movie watching experiences. I’d seen Rumble in the Bronx but was not aware that TNT was showing an entire marathon on that night and just happened upon it in time. Stuff like that doesn’t happen anymore. I want that TNT back!

I remember watching Wheels on Meals on TNT, but I think that was the only one I watched, so it probably wasn't during a marathon of JC titles. It might have been showing after Monstervision, as I also remember watching Wing Chun and the two The Bride with White Hair movies in that timeslot.

Pissing me off as well. Incompetence by Amazon more likely than not getting info from Eureka.

What's the difference? It's nearly 4 months until it'll be released, and that's if COVID doesn't interfere.

Because it’s a LE so we want to lock in our orders now.

If Eureka didn’t take money upfront I’d gladly do that, however they don’t and that’s why I’m waiting for Amazon to list it.

I guess that’s the mentality of the online market today, pre-order something you haven’t got the money for to make sure you grab a copy before someone else.

Quite. If you want it. Order it and pay for it and then be patient.

@Drunken+Master You’re presuming I haven’t got the money for it? I have.

However, I do not necessarily agree with paying for a product months in advance. If there was no other choice then sure, I’d pay it now. If Eureka turn around and say that they will no longer use Amazon as a platform to sell their products and it’s only exclusive through them, then of course I would order it now. This is where 88 do it right IMO and have their pre-orders go up very close to release date where I’m more than happy to pay upfront for it. If I have the option to order it now but pay on release date then for me I would prefer to do that. (Not trying to instigate an argument either, only love here!)

If Eureka said that something along the lines of that the slipcase was exclusive to them then they’d have me by the balls and I would’ve pre-ordered already

Same as you Cooey. Don't want money tied up for 4 months.
