My idea for Amityville is a bit unorthodox but I'd love to see it as a miniseries told in a Rashomon style. One episode can display it as a straight horror story like we've seen before. One episode about the media circus. One about the Warrens. Etc. Look at it from different angles.

wow, I am shocked at the Box office. lol it feels like there was not really much marketing for it, but glad to see horror doing well of course. I love Patrick and Vera so I'll see it eventually but idk i just don't feel a rush to go right away

Regardless of any "official" stance, they tethered it to Annabelle with a crossover character. It's part of the Conjuring Universe. Fight me.

Same goes for Wolves At The Door, the Manson inspired part of the Conjuring Universe that also has crossover characters with Annabelle.

The message from the success of these films is that being a charlatan really does pay.

Other than the Conjuring movies, The Nun is the only other one I saw from this universe and thought it was dreadfully boring. And of the 3 Conjurings, I only really liked the first. 2 was okay. I can't even remember the 3rd. I'm sure I'll see this one at some point.

How do we go from a $65m total grossing third film to a $75m opening weekend for the fourth???
Conjuring 3 box office was definitely a product of the pandemic with the release strategy WB did. I firmly believe it woulda made much more under different circumstances.

This right here! Almost every movie WB released in 2021 did okay to eh with a few exceptions like Dune and Godzilla vs Kong.

I thought this was a good ending for The Conjuring series. It could have had a little tighter editing but overall quite enjoyable. 7/10.

Have a feeling they will go the streaming route with
[Show spoiler]the daughter and son in law taking over and investigating stuff on a weekly basis, like X files but casting demons out.

I'm thinking instead they'll make another movie franchise spinoff called "Mami, Mami."

But seriously... I really, truly hope that their takeaway from this franchise won't start being "Hey this could be a streaming hit." Honestly, I wish shows would just be shows and movies, movies. You devalue the brand once you put it on streaming, in my opinion.

I'm not saying shows can't be quality, including and especially ones like X-Files or Haunting of Hill House, but the prestige of the theatrical release loses its luster for this universe if you start making TV shows. I feel that way with Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and Bond as well.

Loved LAST RITES. Watching the franchise in timeline order had me primed for what was in store with this one, which brings the thematic story to a wonderful close.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Fermiga are just a warm blanket as these characters. I’m glad the heart and soul of this franchise got this send off.

Timeline order watch was unexpectedly great and worked so well.

Holy crap did not know at Wolves at the Door.

And La LLorna is 1000 percent part of the universe. There's a crossover character. They show scenes from freaking Annabelle as a flashback in the movie. There's not even an argument to be made here.

I might try that at some point, but I don't think I'd recommend that for a first-time watch to others. I don't know though since I haven't tried it, but I kind of think some parts would deescalate just because of when they released. Maybe not, though.

The first half of hte movie (up until when the priest dies) was pretty damn good and I was digging it. The second half, oof. Terrible editing, absolutely nothing is explained/

[Show spoiler]the final boss of the series is a floating mirror? Seriously

Patrick and Vera deserved better.
