Can anyone comment if there is also the weird color shifting on the Carlotta release? I briefly sampled the Criterion when I first got it and thought it was isolated to just that first scene with Walt and Jane. After watching it all the way through last night, it does it at various times throughout the entire film. Maybe it's always been there and I never noticed before but it's very distracting and it seems odd they'd do such a big restoration and not try to fix or minimize it more. I'm hoping it's maybe just more prevalent on the Criterion and is less noticeable on the Carlotta or Curzon!

thx for tipping me off, used it to nab Texas Chainsaw (carlotta) and Oceans Eleven steely.

So kboumi's caps about grain reduction on the Carlotta were just off the mark? Because of HDR or what? Certainly not seeing any issue on ko8ebryant24's, looks pretty sweet!

Forgive my ignorance. I wasn’t aware. Never seen it or looked into it until after you mentioned that. I just watched the trailer and liked what I saw.

Thanks

The Curson is said to be done by VDMS, who encoded the Carlotta?

Here are some image comparisons between the remastered BDs included in the Carlotta Films set and the Curzon set (the Criterion does not include a new BD):

You're good lol. Yeah I get it I try to keep most of the packaging in my collection English-language too but if it's in the same language as the country (or countries) of the movie's origin then it's not a big deal to me. I pre-ordered the German release of this one.

They both look very good for BDs imo, but I think Carlotta handles dark areas a bit better (see cap 12 for example).

I was wondering the same thing, except for us ordering from Canada. I have read online that they use DHL, and customers get hit bad with extra fees/duties due to DHL.

Thanks for any help!

[Show spoiler]The remastered Arthaus BD from 2019 (the only modern release of it I own) has a proper 5.1 remix,
so why they scrapped it in favour of the mono in a 5.1 container is beyond me
[Show spoiler] (maybe this is for theatrical DCPs? Single channel mono isn't possible on DCPs, so you need it in a surround container), but at least it's back...
It gives you the option to listen via the center speaker or via the L+R speakers. With 2.0 mono (via a >=2.0 track) one cannot do the former at all (I'll stand corrected, but I'm sure I never had a receiver giving me that option) and if one prefers mono via the L+R speakers one would have to apply some upmixing to such a 5.1 mono track, which isn't really (if at all) possible either, if one also wants source direct (i.e. no processing at all) at the same time. So it actually makes sense from a purist/preference POV - only the Carlotta gives you the option of real direct 1.0 and 2.0 mono. Not saying that's a crucial thing and that they shouldn't have added the 5.1 as well or anything, but it's not pointless.

Just pushing to point to the reassessed 5.1/mono situation with the Carlotta: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=106

Thanks @ko8ebryant24 for pointing to it! See the EDIT above.

So the Curzon doesn't?
