Can anyone comment if there is also the weird color shifting on the Carlotta release? I briefly sampled the Criterion when I first got it and thought it was isolated to just that first scene with Walt and Jane. After watching it all the way through last night, it does it at various times throughout the entire film. Maybe it's always been there and I never noticed before but it's very distracting and it seems odd they'd do such a big restoration and not try to fix or minimize it more. I'm hoping it's maybe just more prevalent on the Criterion and is less noticeable on the Carlotta or Curzon!

You're good lol. Yeah I get it I try to keep most of the packaging in my collection English-language too but if it's in the same language as the country (or countries) of the movie's origin then it's not a big deal to me. I pre-ordered the German release of this one.

They both look very good for BDs imo, but I think Carlotta handles dark areas a bit better (see cap 12 for example).

It gives you the option to listen via the center speaker or via the L+R speakers. With 2.0 mono (via a >=2.0 track) one cannot do the former at all (I'll stand corrected, but I'm sure I never had a receiver giving me that option) and if one prefers mono via the L+R speakers one would have to apply some upmixing to such a 5.1 mono track, which isn't really (if at all) possible either, if one also wants source direct (i.e. no processing at all) at the same time. So it actually makes sense from a purist/preference POV - only the Carlotta gives you the option of real direct 1.0 and 2.0 mono. Not saying that's a crucial thing and that they shouldn't have added the 5.1 as well or anything, but it's not pointless.
