Can anyone comment if there is also the weird color shifting on the Carlotta release? I briefly sampled the Criterion when I first got it and thought it was isolated to just that first scene with Walt and Jane. After watching it all the way through last night, it does it at various times throughout the entire film. Maybe it's always been there and I never noticed before but it's very distracting and it seems odd they'd do such a big restoration and not try to fix or minimize it more. I'm hoping it's maybe just more prevalent on the Criterion and is less noticeable on the Carlotta or Curzon!

So kboumi's caps about grain reduction on the Carlotta were just off the mark? Because of HDR or what? Certainly not seeing any issue on ko8ebryant24's, looks pretty sweet!

The Curson is said to be done by VDMS, who encoded the Carlotta?

Here are some image comparisons between the remastered BDs included in the Carlotta Films set and the Curzon set (the Criterion does not include a new BD):

You're good lol. Yeah I get it I try to keep most of the packaging in my collection English-language too but if it's in the same language as the country (or countries) of the movie's origin then it's not a big deal to me. I pre-ordered the German release of this one.

Just pushing to point to the reassessed 5.1/mono situation with the Carlotta: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=106
Thanks @ko8ebryant24 for pointing to it! See the EDIT above. |
