QUESTION: Does anyone know if all the extras will be in HD?
No, they were shot SD.

Quote:
ANOTHER QUESTION: Why aren't all extras on all BDs upscaled to HD?
Because then they'd have to be compressed like HD, wasting already stretched resources when your player will just upscale it anyway. The gains aren't worth the time and effort

Ain't that the truth. My snack bar tab always exceeds the ticket price.

Movie tickets at my nearest Regal cinema go for $11.00 if you go on Friday or Saturday. $10.50 on other nights. Usually I buy movie passes at Costco which gets me 2 tickets for $14.00 ($7.00 each) but then I wouln't be able to use the $7.50 movie cash coupon.

Was not too fond of this movie - just keeping my standard definition DVD - not really worth the upgrade -

Sounds good, but I can wait until July 8. I'm glad you decided to take advantage. Thanks for the heads up, though!

But that's just it, the PS3 does not upscale the extras for some reason. I watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer last night and the one extra that I watched was in 480p (it looked damn good for 480p though) and I know this because every time my TV switches resolutions there is a few second pause and it displays the new resolution. I own lots of BDs where the extras are at 480p.

Got mine on pre-order too. Watching that baby before going to the theaters to watch The Dark Knight.

Waiting on this one excitedly, and Gotham Knight - watching one after the other and then followed by the Dark Knight.

Batman Begins is the greatest movie ever made. I was looking for a  but didn't find one. This one works better anyways.

LMAO... I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh...

I have a small dilemma. Firstly, I will outright admit it and start you all on the "hating Petra Kalbrain" train right off the top of this post. I wasn't a big fan of 'Batman Begins' the one and ONLY time that I have watched it. In fact, I found it to be boring and slightly less entertaining than the Tim Burton original. Now, that being said, I have seen the trailer for 'The Dark Knight' an insane number of times and believe that Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker will, most likely, single-handedly redeem 'Batman Begins' in my eyes. But, here is the thing. Tonight, at a WB press junket event, I was bombarded with Batman material; 'Batman: Gotham Knight' DVD, 'Batman Begins' 2-disc deluxe edition DVD, 'Birds Of Prey' the complete series DVD, and the 'Batman Begins' Blu-ray. So, I don't know exactly where to start with all of these goods. But that's not my dilemma. My dilemma resides in the fact that I have already purchased my advanced ticket for the midnight screening of 'The Dark Knight' on July 17th. Do I want to watch my 'Batman Begins' Blu-ray right now in order to get re-acquainted and possibly change my opinion of the film for the better 3 weeks before seeing 'The Dark Knight'? Or do I wait until the 17th and watch it that evening to make a consecutive go of, what will then officially be, the series???

I am so conflicted right now!!!

P.S. If anyone has any official questions regarding any of the material or specs of any of the material I mentioned above, I'll be happy to post specific details.

^^ 23 gigs. So the rest is special features?

After the 300 news, maybe I should wait for the inevitable double-dip.
