If you like Martial Arts sword films, it is... Tsui Hark directed, and action choreographed by Lau Kar Liang, nicknamed POPS, veteran A/D from the old Shaw Bros studios days, Seven Swords is worth a purchase. The film is very good, and Donnie's role is good, as he plays a character not unlike the one he played against Jet Li in Hero.

No idea about the PQ or AQ, or even if it actually IS region-locked. I DO KNOW, however, that YesAsia is almost NEVER entirely accurate about the information they include, so this may or may not be region-locked.

Taiwan Version only has lossless audio for the Mandarin tracks. I don't think it has Cantonese tracks.

Yesasia has changed the region status of the HK disc to Region ALL. Is it a mistake or a possible re-pressing?

What if I can get the Taiwan release for 1/3 the price? Is the audio track on the Taiwan release a dub? Long as the Taiwanese version is not a horrible dub Cantonese and Mandarin are all the same to me since I don't speak either!

Cantonese is the "original" language as it does take place in Southern China, and how it is filmed with Cantonese-speaking actors. Obviously except for the Japanese sequences.

As far as AQ/PQ there just isn't any better than the HK version. Even if you CAN get it cheaper it's just better to invest in the better quality version. HK version no question.

I received my copy just last week of the HK version of IP Man from yesasia. It is encoded region ABC (region all)

Does anybody want to trade the UK version for my HK version? I probably prefer better english subtitles over better video/audio quality.

I also got my copy from YesAsia HK somewhere middle of last year. At the back of the disc case it indicates locked to region A.

Hmm....not sure if Universal Laser & Video (ULV) did a re-issue/re-press or maybe it was actually a region All but ULV wrongly labeled it in their first batch of release, hence they corrected the error.

I don't have other BD player so can't verify the region coding.

Watched it on Sat night and absolutely loved the movie!! Saw on the credits that Donnie Yen chereographed the action sequences in SPL....

I just received my 2nd copy of IP MAN from DDDhouse today. I sold off my first copy to a mate that loved the movie so much.
