Matt Damon Says James Bond Franchise is "Repulsive"

Matt Damon is one of those actors I wish would just keep his mouth shut publicly and make movies. Oh well.

Matt Damon loves to share his over-simplistic views on politics and now his hatred for James Bond movies. While speaking to The Miami Herald, Damon said: "They could never make a James Bond movie like any of the Bourne films. Because Bond is an imperialist, misogynist sociopath who goes around bedding women and swilling martinis and killing people. He's repulsive."

Damon added: "The Bond character will always be anchored in the 1960s and in the values of the 1960s. [He's] so anachronistic when you put it in the world we live in today."

While clearly Damon is not a big fan of the Bond franchise, it appears that he is not that big of a fan of the "Bourne" franchise either. He revealed that the only reason he agreed to make the fourth movie is because Universal Pictures put up $125 million for his passion project "The Green Zone," which is based on a harshly critical book about the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. "When you make a $125 million Iraq movie, you kind of owe them a Bourne movie," he said.
