Rich,

You better find a magic marker and cross out the name Cat Stevens. His new name is "Yusuf, the artist known as Cat Stevens".

I have a copy of the original release of that LP. It is in pretty bad shape through many years of abuse.

Rich I think you might be pleasantly surprised by how good SACD can sound. If you look at how DSD represents an analog pulse it shows how superior it is to multi-bit PCM (in my opinion):

I have roughly the same # of DVD-A's as I do SACD's and I usually find myself listening to an SACD over the former, as does my wife.

The massive drawback of course is a complete lack of title selection, particularly where most vinyl member's tastes lie.

Hi Steve,

I appreciate that and I do have a number of both SACDs and DVD-A titles, but I do not have 2 formats for most recordings; additionally, I am not sure if some of the better recordings that I have are all available in SACD or DVD-A. Finally, some of the expensive Hot Stampers really do not sound that much like the average copy of most vinyl pressings.

Rich

I would be surprised if even 5% were.

I am eagerly awaiting my Lotto numbers coming in so I can pick up a large stockpile of Tom's records, haha.

A few more purchases I made today May 15/09

The first pic is one of the few Stones albums I don't have on vinyl, so when I found it today I just had to buy it.

The Rolling Stones - Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)
Rolling Stones - The Big Hits.jpg

This I bought because it's a UK Import and I love Tom Waits!
Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombone.jpg

These make 33 sealed LP's to date and more to follow I'm sure.

Love that Tom Waits cover! New Modest Mouse should be great too. Thanks for the heads up.

My delivery came today. Acoustic sounds had Matthew Sweet on sale. What a deal. I almost paid $35 a piece elsewhere but at the last second found 'em there.

Also nabbed Fleet Foxes. Incredible and so relaxing. Mmmmmm

The Jimi Hendrix is on 180-gram, as are most of my new purchases. I imagine there aren't any sealed orginal pressings available, and if there were, the price would be astronomical for something like this.
