+1

i've got the 663's successor, the 765, paired an adcom power amp and 8ohm energy speakers. before i added the amp, just the yammy alone was more than enough. although, if i had the chouce b/t a marantz 5003 and my yammy now, i'd get the marantz...

Hey guys new to this thread as I just purchased a pair of T45's and a matching C40, never got to audition them but I was throughly impressed with the Alpha T1 and C1 that I have listened to. Hopefully they will match well with my Onkyo 805.

I have a question for anyone who has dealt with DMC-electronics, I heard about them through this forum. It seems audio advisors has the speaker package I bought for $50 cheaper, I'm wondering since I just ordered them yesterday if DMC would do a price adjustment? I emailed a reply back on their order confirmation but have yet to receive a reply.

audio advisor will charge shipping, so I would think they would come out to about the same cost overall.

Congrats, the Image's are nice speakers, Alphas are good, I like the Energys better, but they were good. Image speakers are better then the Alphas. You will enjoy. Similar sound, but better detail and imaging and a little better bass. I only heard the T55 though.

Thanks for the reply, I think AA is offering free shipping, either way I'm getting a good deal. I live in Canada yet I can buy these speakers from a Canadian company much cheaper in the US, which makes no sense given the parity between the dollars.

I too was looking at getting some energy speakers, from the Connoisseur line (CF-50) but I really like the overall sound of the alphas so I'm sure the step up should be even better.

DMC was able to match! I can't wait, my Onkyo 805 should be enough to drive these speakers right? I know that amp section on this receiver is very stout.

AWESOME congrats! DMC is a great seller, especially since they price matched for you after you purchased them!

Cant wait to hear your listening impressions as this T45 / C40 combo is supposed to be amazingly good at any price, but a STEAL for what they are selling for. The 805 will make them sing for sure.

Be sure you post pics as well...what finish did you get?

A nismo, no, but I owned a 240SX. But as you get older a lowered 240sx just wasn't getting it done so it's been sold to some guy looking to drift as well.
Maybe later my wife will allow me to buy a Nismo 370Z, but right now it's just an SUV.

anyone own or hear the new image line from psb? i went down today to check them out at a local high end HT store and i loved them. I listened to the T5 towers with some music for a bit and then he popped in dark knight and played the beginning scene and WOW!! they are amazing speakers for a nice comfy price point.

DMC-electronics, Saturday Audio, and Audio Advisor all have the older Image line on sale. I did hear the T55s once before. They are really nice speakers. Good accurate highs, mid-range that is full of detail and openness and warmth, lows that are good, not super deep but low enough for good 2 channel music.

I really want to hear the new Image line. PSB could very well be one of the speakers I upgrade to next time(5-10 yrs). I am not too happy with the new Energy C line and if the RC series gets screwed up, then I will be going to something like PSB or Dali.

Ryan, you may see if you can audition some Dali speakers sometime, really nice too.

I own the older Image S50 surround speakers and am very happy with them. I haven't heard the new Image series, but I am familiar with the older Image and Platinum series PSB speakers. They are outstanding.

I believe DMC-Electronics has better prices. Some of the PSB speakers are also available on Ebay. They are brand new and in the original boxes.

There is nothing wrong with the older series. They are being replaced by the new series. I wouldn't be surprised if they sound similar. Manufacturers feel that they should come up with new products every few years or months. In some cases, the difference may be only cosmetic. In PSB's case, I have read in a few HT magazines that they were redesigned from the ground.

cool thanks, still wondering if the speakers are actually different from the the new series? i mean for half price i would figure they would be worth the chance. i mean a whole 5 speaker setup for like $1600

The previous Image line are amazing speakers period. Outstanding sound quality, value and good looks. There is absolutely nothing "wrong" with them, you would have are harder time picking out things they DONT do well.

That being said, depending on budget, I would still go with the new images since their design has trickled down from their more expensive lines. Cabinet design/ manufacturing process, ceramic filled polypropylene drivers from the Imagine line, driver arrangement similar to the synchrony line (just won best speaker over $5000).

Bottom line, the previous or new Image line are a remarkable value. Just look into ones that fit your price range.

Some good reading:

Thanks for the info. i was just figuring that for half the money and they would be similiar to the new line and kick a$$. so many choices. i actually auditioned the new image line yesterday and they were amazing. but now your talking $3k+ for the whole setup

atleast i would have enough $$ to buy a decent sub
