Update for anyone that grabbed a preorder from DiabolikDVD last Friday before they sold out again. I received a tracking number but it’s just the label this morning so hopefully it will ship out soon. I’m thinking before this Friday it should be delivered. Check your emails or your DiabolikDVD account for an order update

Same here. I keep checking it, lol. Makes no sense to me that some people have already gotten theirs from Amazon, when ours has not even shipped yet. and I ordered mine, like the first moment they went up for pre-order months back.

It feels like the main reason Savini went back to the film was to restore his B&W opening idea - the extra gore part almost feels like a footnote. Nevertheless, I would've thought the uncensored version was the highlight of this release. It is for me.

For Amazon that's just standard operating procedure. If you're really "lucky" they oversell and end up cancelling some early bird orders as well.

It’s stupidity, and every time I contact chat, I get the same clueless excuses.

Just use HMV and Zavvi for these big limited editions now, but I fall for it now and again and use Amazon still because of Prime.

Ordered July 14th and mine still says Friday. Hopefully, it ships and arrives by Friday.

Got my copy and have been watching it up until the first unrated bit.

The movie looks and sounds amazing on UHD, and to me, the unrated bits are of the same quality as the main movie.

Small things of note; there's lots of different subtitles (yay!) and for the unrated cut, only Atmos and DTS-HD MA 5.1 are available - I guess the 2.0 track is for the theatrical cut (which makes sense).

Loving it so far. :-)

My Amazon order like so many others here shows arriving tomorrow but hasn’t shipped, 2 of my other orders haven’t shipped for tomorrow either so I don’t know.
Fortunately I was just able to submit a back up order with another place but the expected delivery date is between 9/30-10/2 but hopefully Amazon comes through before that.

"We're encountering a delay in shipping your order. The new delivery date is indicated below. We'll send a confirmation when your items ship. We apologize for the inconvenience."

New estimated delivery date is Wednesday. I swear if this gets cancelled...

I didn't bother to pre-order. Since this is a Sony release, I'm expecting Please Rewind to carry this at some point. Hopefully, I'm not wrong.

Anyhoo, I've cancelled my order from Spain and reordered from Amazon UK (they had 5 in stock when I posted this morning and by the time I previewed my message it was 2 in stock).

Says it's arriving Thursday. Oh the excitement!




Incidentally, HMV (the biggest media seller in the UK online and high street) only had 52 copies for sale on eBay. Not sure what that tells me but it implies there's not much around.

Watched my disc a couple of nights ago and while I liked the film plenty, I think people who prefer it to the 1968 original are repulsive.
