My theater, on the other hand, has Paradigm Studio 100's, ADP's, and CC, but they are v2. Just now upgrading the power going into them. I wonder what non-Atlanta dealers are asking for the v6 20's in Rosenut. Atlanta is not cheap.
Actually the Studios are only up to V5. The Monitor line is up to V6. Like I said before on this thread....I love the Studio 20s.

Guys what's a fair price to pay for a MINT pair of Studio 100 v2? Black not the more expensive veneer models. Is 1000$ Canadian good? 900$?

Over the weekend the wife and I auditioned some JM LAB Focal 816s...a full 5.1 setup. Dealer wanted 3400$+tx. It sounded nice, real nice but didn't sound 2000$ more than what I paid for my current 40v2 setup.

I'm still thinking the older Studio 20 and 40s v2 can keep up with today's speakers.

I'm not sure about that (IMHO). I'm a vintage speaker nut, and I have sold Paradigms before - the Studio 20, 40, 60, 100 (original and series 2). I have also heard the newer ones - and IMHO, Paradigm is one of the few speakers that actually sound better when they upgrade a product. Many speakers have taken a step backwards for the sake of beauty, but not Paradigm. They make their speakers progressively better each time. Don't get me wrong though - the older Studio are no slouch and can keep up with today's speakers (with the exception of their own newer incarnations). I would put a studio 40v2 up against alot of newer speakers and would choose the 40 over them. Only compared with themselves will you really like the newer Paradigms more - and that's really saying something. Paradigm is a fine company that waste no effort in just retooling a speaker, they really upgrade it.

Those stands are ridiculously priced. My CC-370v4 was $399 CDN and the stand for it is also $400! I bought the VTI DFC-19 for $60 and couldn't be happier with it.

Hot damn, I want me a SUB 1.

If it can handily best 2 Servo 15v2's then I think I will sell my Servo 15v2 and look for a SUB1. I should be able to get around $1,200~$1,500 for my Servo as it is in excellent condition. That review is great.

The SUB 2 is miles out of my $range. I always like the way Martin Logan did their Depth and Descent subs with the tri-array of drivers equally positioned, I have no doubt the SUB 1 would probably embarrass the SUB 25 as well, nevermind the SUB 2.

Someone in Anderson, SC, USA has a pair for ~$800 on eBay. While that is a nice drive for me, I do not know about the owner shipping to Canada. I have a Paradigm v2 setup (100's in rosenut. ADP's and CC) and love them. I thought about this person on eBay, but I do not do business with eBay.

Coincidentally, a local Paradigm dealers has a pair of Focal Cobalt 816's, but I do not know if they are 816, 816s, or the Jubilee editions. In black Ashe finish for US$1100.

Someone told me they were brighter than the 'digm's I have, but the original 816's (not the 816s) had problems.

Yeah add shipping to that and the exchange to CAD dollars and there you go we're at the 1000$ mark. Seems like the going rate then.

Yeah I'm on there every day. Missed out on some NEW OLD stock for Studio 20v4s :-(

I also found some Studio 80v2 for 725$ shipped.

I don't buy new lol can't afford it. Unless it's crazy pricing I usually look used.

As for dealers giving out deals...only deal I ever got new was my center channel. Everything else I've gotten MAYBE 10% off sticker.

Used market has some gems at time.

Still debating if the 100s are worth it at 1000$. Closest new I've seen in that price range is the Studio 10s at 1k and Studio 20s ar 1200$.

If it were me in your situation....I would rather pay $1200 for the Studio 20s v5 than $1000 for the Studio 100s v2. Or look for something used in the Monitor v5 series for $1000.

How well do the Studio 20's v.5 hold up with music?

Beautifully....when I demoed the Studio 20 I listened to HT 20% and Music 80%. They sounded very detailed and natural. They really sounded like my Studio 60 floorstanders actually.

I believe he is trying to get it so that all his speaker match 100%, and it would be easier to get the v2s then a whole new setup.

Oh, I guess I missed the fact that he had v2 speakers already. Nevermind.

The 40's would be v4 only since they didn't carry that line into v5.
I would recommend you have a listen to the Studio 20s v5....they pack a punch that you wouldn't expect.

However, after you add the price of the stands etc...they are close in price to the Studio 60 I believe.
