Gold.
There's so much more to the Prequels than dialogue.

To be fair, there's not THAT much to the prequel in general. I enjoy them, but they are seriously flawed films. Ewan Mcgregor was fantastic in the trilogy though. Easily the highlight.

Well. Back when I used to watch Lost (which is highly influenced by the OT), I would notice the parallels between it and the Prequels. So thematically, The Prequels are real Star Wars. But, yes, We're Home does what it is supposed to do on the right target audience by playing into their nasty biases. For me, I will just pretend "We're Home" means it is nice to see Luke, Leia, and Han again. Nothing more. But sadly in the back of the mind I know what is designed to really mean.

Well, they get better over time in the sense that removed from the massive feeling of disappointment you can appreciate them more for what they do well. Same for Crystal Skull.

I like how McGregor's Obi says, "democracy" in Episode III. It's very grand and overblown.

I agree - they have an entertainment factor but I was just responding to someone praising the dialogue from Revenge of the Sith:

I'm trying to figure out how this "ring theory" has become so important or earth-shattering to some people when a blind person could see Lucas repeating events and themes from the OT. Gungans = Ewoks, yeah -- everybody got that. In Clones, Anakin has a vision of beloved person in pain like Luke in Empire Strikes Back. Yup, we got it. Observation room in Grievous's ship looks like the throne room on the Death Star in ROTJ, Anakin does what Luke would not. Yeah. We get it. EVERYBODY got it. Now people are crowd-sourcing a documentary to explain the obvious. Next up on the news, Dog Chases Tail.

"So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause" is one of my favourite lines from the entire saga.

And Lucas never ever hid this fact. In the documentaries on the prequel dvds it come up a few times at least. When he was developing the Prequels Lucas thought of the saga as a poem and wanted some things to mirror events in the OT and some things to repeat. This doesn't make the Prequels any less flawed than they are.

Maybe because we're hoping to show the non believers that there are more to the prequels than meets the eye. Although, its probably too long for them to get through.

Why do you care? All that matters is that you like them.

It already does meet the eye. Oedipus Rex could see the parallels. Are you assuming the "non-believers" are simply not intelligent enough to see such obvious things? Trust me, we all saw it. It doesn't come close to compensating for a whole slew of other issues, but this isn't the thread for this.

I forgot I am posting in a forum where things are taken way too seriously. Ahem. I said there are some great quotable moments. That's hardly a ringing endorsement for the film's dialogue overall.

oh episode 3... I always laugh at the anakin obi-wan exchanges:
Obi-Wan: Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic! To democracy!!
Anakin: If you're not with me, then you're my enemy!
