Well, personally, I haven't seen Life of Pi so I can't comment on the quality of that specific movie. Wasn't trying to start an argument or anything. I was just more making a general comment that it sucks when the 3D quality of ANY movie is superb but the movie itself is not good/slow/whatever. Or, for example, if one of your favorite movies is finally released in 3D and the 3D is horribly done. It just makes it hard to decide if it's worth spending money on a given movie.

Just watched Zootopia.
What a great animated feature. The 3D was excellent, the picture sharp and colorful, and a story and characterizations that would keep any adult fully entertained. Recommended. Last edited by Joe D.; 01-23-2019 at 04:19 AM. |

Watched it on the LG E6P on Sunday with my son and his girlfriend, who both came over to see it for the first time. They enjoyed it immensely and I got a lot more out of the story, solidifying details on my second view..

I strongly urge you to watch the very first Jurassic Park movie before you hit the sequels. It's a great ride of a movie, and there is even a 3D version of it available now that is a fairly decent conversion, and it is currently about twelve bucks: https://www.amazon.com/Jurassic-Park.../dp/B00B4804KS Hang on, $5.95 at Hamilton: https://www.hamiltonbook.com/jurassic-park-3d It really sets up what the whole story is and who the players are, and how they got to where they are. I think the sequels don't really explain things like the first movie did. I also recommend it simply as a great science fiction movie, even if it were not in 3D, but the 3D is definitely a good enhancement although generally mild in nature. Just watched Snow Queen 2. Purchased English 3D region A from Brazil.
Loved the story. Clever, humerous and touching. The 3D had very good depth but the immersion was different from what i'm used to. The amount of depth actually remained relatively consistent throughout, not varying much in degree despite changes in scenic foreground and background. There were changes in object placement within the scope of that stabilized immersiveness which included objects protruding slightly beyond the screen (not pop outs). But again, just no relative changes in overall depth strength (which also meant no portions of weakness as well). Just was not used to seeing a good 3D picture accompanied by a rigid scale of depth. Just watched Love. Wow, that was tad explicit. Actually quite liked the film. Brave actors. Liked the 3D. Did I mention it was quite explicit...
