I watched like 20 mins and turned it off. Thankfully I didn't have to sit thru 3 films to realize how stupid it was. If this is the route the new Scream will take, franchise ended at part 4 to me.

A poster on the Scream subreddit just posted some test screening spoilers. If true, it sounds kind of lame. Too soapy and too many callbacks to the original. Scream 4 already tried the remake thing.

I’m a huge fan of scream in fact the first is my all time favourite film, but realistically it should have ended at 3, the fourth movie didn’t feel like a scream movie to me, I just don’t think scream works now in the modern age, the thing that made the first scream so scary was the fact that there was no caller Id you needed to pick up the phone, in scream 4 you could just turn your phone off or block the number, the only thing I admire about scream 4 is the fact they tried to replicate the town of woodsboro very well, looking at the leaked pics of scream 5 it doesn’t look like woodsboro to me at all and that’s definitely a big red flag! I’m still debating wether to go and see s5 tbh but like I said I don’t think the idea of scream works now

I do hope this isn't another case of reboots merely cherry picking familiar plot elements and moments from all the past entries and just pasting them together and calling it a day like they did with Halloween 2018 and Terminator Dark Fate.

I can't find it. Was it recent or did you stumble upon an old thread? I know a few months ago people were posting fake spoilers quite frequently.
