Of course they are still much better than a stream. Netflix tops out at 1.5-2.0 Mbps for 1080p content, and even a "low bitrate" BD is well above 10. Then you also have to factor in lossless audio and whatnot. They look fine, the first four or so films just have some minor compression issues here and there.

It's still not comparable to BD of course, but Netflix's bitrate for HD is upwards of 6 Mbps now.

Finally bought this! $89.99 Amazon Gold Box was too sweet to pass up!
This is great news for anyone still waiting to purchase this set, as now after my purchase, it most assuredly will drop to $75 next week.

Yeah, I've been reading this thread for quite awhile, and it's been torture at times, with all the tempting deals posted.
Now the hard part: finding the time to watch all these films!

It's so hard to pass up this $89 deal. Of course they had to do this to me right when I start my Christmas shopping. I don't see the price chart for this. It usually never dips below $150.

Yeah, I just bought the 31 Disc Hogwarts Set for $89. I got it for my mum as part of her Christmas gifts...can't wait to see her face when she opens it up. She's a big Harry Potter fan and has been wanting them on Bluray for ages...

This set looks amazing. Glad they put a lot of effort into it...

Did you check inside the outer box? I can't remember exactly where mine was but I've had UV codes hide in those before.

Yes. I even shined a light in there, just to see. No codes!

My Hogwarts collection just came in the mail today. I immediately checked. As soon as I opened the first page of the Hogwarts Book I saw the UV code.

That sucks you don't have an UV code with yours, Raif79. I would contact Amazon or Warner Bros. ASAP!

Just started the process of getting a replacement from amazon. It's ridiculous that I have to have them send me an entire new set, and then I have to box one up and drop it off at UPS.

You should have just contacted WB, they would have sent you a new code and you wouldn't have to send the set back.

Hey,

Has anyone had issues with their HBP Blu-rays?

I had to request a return of the Hogwarts Collection from Amazon because the scene in Hagrid's Hut between Slughorn and Harry (The Lily Petal conversation) skipped. The 2nd Blu-ray with the Creating HP documentaries + extras made this horrendous noise inside the PS3 and wouldn't load.

I received my return yesterday and though the film disc works, the Creating HP disc loads ONLY the wallpaper with music but no menu options. How bizarre. PS3 firmware is fully up-to-date, and I even tried deleting the BD Data Utility and nothing.

Thankfully, I bought the original Ultimate Edition of HBP before it got costly/rare, and both discs work just fine, it's just annoying to have the collection 'broken' by one film (and not even the last or first, which would at least satisfy my OCD a little more, lol).

Anyone else run into issues with their Hogwarts discs? Or other Blus that did this? Any fixes?

Thanks, guys!

Nope. No problems. Have you tried your discs on a more modern BD player?

While I don't believe the packaging causes scratching itself it is set up in a way where pressure on it can cause scratching, if that makes sense. My set came with multiple scratched discs, though luckily they all play fine after being buffed out. Try cleaning your discs and if it still acts up either email Warner for a single replacement or return the whole thing.
