Lionsgate is going to wait until at least the first box set version before offering a combined movie.

There are blurays with more content on them, but they don't look very good. Let's say the next movie is also 2 hours long, that's a 4 hour supercut + 7.1 lossless which is pushing the upper limits of what BD can do. In the hands of a skilled compressionist they'd get the job done, but Lionsgate don't inspire confidence in that department.

If they do a supercut, I wonder if they'd release it theatrically alongside part 2? Perhaps they could do an Anchorman and release the supercut later in the run, it'd be awesome to see the whole thing in one go.

I loved it (Mockingjay - Part 1)! It sucked me in and didn't let me go. Only the dumb-ass in the audience that failed to turn off his mobile phone ringer managed to pull me out of the movie. (I probably pulled a few people out of the movie myself when I said "Thanks, Douchebag!" when his phone went off.) The only negative is that now I have to wait another freakin' year to see how it all ends (I haven't read the books)!

The Booth Bijou gives it 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Edit: Jennifer Lawrence is HOT! But, watching her on the big screen today, I realized I've finally reached the age (58) where thinking a 20-something looks HOT is a little bit creepy! She's easily young enough to be my daughter and not too far from being young enough to be my granddaughter.

Getting old sucks!

Mark

Just got back from this, and not going to lie, it was very underwhelming. Last fall, I left the theatre after seeing Catching Fire and wanting to immediately see it again, so I saw it twice that night, but after this movie was over I felt very "meh". Once is enough for me.

[Show spoiler]Peeta and Johanna are my two favourites so I was disappointed when they both got less than 5 minutes of screentime combined.

I wouldn't be surprised if this fails to make $400M domestically.

the older I get I realize that the male mind never changes... a beautiful young woman is noticed no matter how old you are! It's only creepy if you "act upon it" in real life!

IT is being foretasted to make 150M+ this weekend. I would be shocked if this made under 400M domestically.

Can someone spoil me on how the movie ends? I'll wait for Part II. Thanks in advance.

There winds up being a Part II.

No, but the link jscoggins gave you does the job. Although the actual ending is a little more intense than the article lets on. I'll just say that.

Still, a $125 million U.S. opening for “Mockingjay” would be the biggest 2014 launch by far...
