I found Hudsucker Proxy Warner Archive Collection on the clearance shelf so that was kind of crazy. It was 75% off (plus the 10% on my FYE club thing I'm on trial membership for and don't think will be worth it) made it $6.08!

75% off clearance section was filled so I picked up Serpico and Pain & Gain for $2.50 each and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for $2.

Those are good deals! My nearest FYE eliminated the yellow tag clearance, I've been meaning to go across town to check out the other location. I went to mine and couldn't find anything I wanted to use my recent 20% off one item coupon I got for doing the survey. I'm glad they went back to offering a 20% off via your receipt, even if you have to do a brief survey for it.

Nearby location is closing, sadly. Browsing there earlier this week I did grab an E.T. LE 4K for $9.99 and a Triple H Figuarts for $3.51.

I've noticed that they seem to be closing locations one by one instead of outright closing the FYE chain as a whole. I wonder how many they intend to leave open?

Yeah, my FYE had a Bargain section and a separate 75% off "Great Value" section previously and they were essentially combined so that everything in the Bargain section was now 75% off. There were some really good deals on some lesser known DVDs and a few on more popular items. There was a 4K TMNT: OOTS that I could have gotten for $5.62, but I already owned the 3D release so I passed.

For the record, paying for VIP is never worth it because you can continuously re-sign up for the trial. Just cancel before it ends and the next time you visit the store sign up again. There's no limit to the number of times you can trial it. I'm up to at least 15...

Woahhh. thanks for the tip I had no idea. I'm considering paying for one month after this trial month so I can get a $20 FYE certificate but I already feel so indifferent about the store but I guess it's worth it?

They closed every store within the market a few years ago locally. The nearest one is like a four hour round trip drive these days.

I go to the one in Burnsville, MN 2-3 times a year so I hope it never closes.

So I just called to cancel my FYE Backstage Pass while I'm in my free trial month, and they offered to bill me only $4.95 a month instead of the $11.99. Since the membership thing came with an offer to get a $20 fye gift card after two months of active membership, I suppose that is worthwhile.

Only just now I'm wondering if "after two months of active membership" means I need to wait for my second month to end, or if I send in for this offer right at the beginning of my second month it will still be honored.

I would buy a $20 fye gift card for $4.95. LOL that I don't know if it's worth it to me to spend $10 or $12 on an FYE gift card though.

edit: Just saw on the website. 38 days longer! until I can submit for the offer. Maybe this is worthwhile for people to try? If you want a half price $20 gift card in two or three months?
