Printing is a challenge that is going to be different and thus involves testing for your particular situation. I have had to select a matte finish because the inks don't seem to stick so well to the gloss finish. YMMV.

Just because I'm making custom Criterion covers and you know I kind of HAVE to put an inner artwork on the other side.
Going to make these available to download cuz I love your 2001 cover and a download would be awesome

You'll have to get a clear white case that Criterion uses, because the dimensions I used are for those, not the standard blu.

Wanted to replace my cover for the film and thought this would be a nice fit, especially with a black Blu-ray case to go along with it. Been thinking about making the title a shade of red though.
I prefer the more colorful versions, especially the ones with the pink cursive font. It's such a colorful, retro film!

Liked the movie, but not one I would add to my collection. But your front cover is awesome as it captures his character. The character often stared before saying anything and your banner for title draws you right to the characters eyes. And that toothpick is a must - LOL.

So I would like to see both title colors, one you have now and magenta one. I think making the title stand out to much would be a mistake and take away from main picture. Perhaps a different color but not so stand out like the bright magenta from original cover.

BTW - What font is that for title and any layer effects on it? I love it.

The title font is called "Nijmwegen." For the title I skewed it about by 7.5 degrees. Other than that I used a custom brush to create the weathered look.

Once I finished all of my DAC customs –the films that have been released anyway– I looked back at them and found a lot of improvements that could be made. There are many things I love and many things that I would have done differently if I could do it all over again. Which got me thinking... The covers I like the most are those that have the original title treatment and background painting on the spine. I'm also growing very tired of the typical Blu-ray cases and have grown quite fond of the clear cases Criterion uses.

So, I went back to the beginning and tried something a little different. These first three haven't changed much, the covers are essentially the same on all three, just minus the border and rearranged slightly to fit on the new cover size, but I thought I would share and see if there is any interest at all in this new format.

My intention this time around is to simply make artwork for the film rather than it's specific release. To include some of the bonus features that are regularly included with the film so that in the future, when an upgrade comes along, you can sell off your old copy and toss the new disc in this case and it will still accurately represent what is inside.

Anyway, here are the first three. If you guys have interest in them, let me know and I will share them along the way. If not, that's totally cool too, less pressure on me!

#1: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

#2: Pinocchio

#3: Fantasia

The white text on Snow White is hard to read, imo.

I have some dissapointing news. My computer randomly went haywire and I've lost all of my data including everything I used in and for Photoshop. So any covers I was making or planning on making are indefinitely delayed for the time being. Had I created a restore point, none of this would've happened.

The worst part about that, I had Iron Man 3 ready to go and was about 90% done with Thor 2. I've also lost all the key art, all types of resources, templates, everything is all gone with no chance of recovery. I wish I had the money to buy a backup drive a while ago.

Re-Did my 2001 Space Odyssey... reasoning was I messed up the dimensions the first time. Printed it out and had the middle/spine wrong.

Here it is, and I decided to get rid of the earth blue I had in the boxes in the middle, and replace them with the black and white stroke.

Alright folks, some good news. I did a little digging to find a way to get my files back and was able to restore all of my files. I guess sometimes all it take is a little digging, and a s**t-ton of luck.
