Rarely do I ever hear Star Wars fans laying the blame on Jake Lloyd for the problems with Anakin. Probably he broke down years ago, it's easy to judge but no matter of thick your skin is you will break down in situations like these sooner or later, and being exposed to stuff like this when you have yet to start shaving is probably the best recipe to break someone's personality.

Unless Lloyd ad libbed "yippie" and then convinced Lucas to keep it in the film it is still all Lucas' fault. Lloyd was Brando, Nicholson and Olivier compared to Christensen when it came to acting. Lloyd played a kid like a kid would act. Although Christensen played a spoiled brat well and that is how it was written so what am I even rambling on about?

I wish I could say I'm surprised by Lloyd's behavior...but sadly, that's what happens when young people are put under a ton of pressure. It doesn't really matter whether the attention's positive or negative, because the effect is still overwhelming. Most people in the spotlight don't know how to handle it, because their every move is constantly monitored.

Yes, people focus on performances but it's the directing and writing that are the problem, and that comes down to one man.

Yeah they're not speaking English as the common language in Star Wars universe. English is used only as a storytelling device. It's like an "English dub" of a foreign language.

THIS!! The Phantom Menace had a lot of problems but Jake Lloyd wasn't one of them. He was fine as Anakin and based on the auditions that I saw, he nailed the lines much better than anyone else who tried out.

Yeah, but it's been treated as the "generalized Star Wars thread" for a while now. We still don't have a lot of information or much to talk about about the actual movie itself right now.

When we see more from the movie, the discussion will reflect that.
