Just a few days before they're set for battle at the Emmys, Showtime dramas Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex have both been tapped for new seasons.

The network announced Wednesday that its summer block of Sunday sophomores will return in 2015 with 12-episodes each. Production on both will begin early next year.

This seems to be a trend. Cancelling a series before it even premieres now.

They never even filmed an episode or cast anyone. The studio and NBC had differences of opinion with the script development.
