There is that also, it feels a bit too lifeless and mechanical. People say that they get the 'movie by committee' vibe with how Iron Man 2 was put together, I get that feeling x100 with Thor 2.

And Portman being on auto-pilot has unfortunate shades of the SW prequels, an association that is furthered by the utterly dispensable villainry and all the space-jet dogfighting stuff which holds no surprises.

I used to think it was pretty weak, but I watched it again recently and...I dunno, I really enjoyed it. It's got flaws, but it's got more good things than bad. Plus, it has this really cool sci-fi vibe that I just love. And the so-called "forced comedy" never bothered me either, not even Kat Dennings, though I can understand why it would.

It's not toward the top of the MCU, but it's pretty damn solid.

Loved the first Thor but this movie is beyond terrible. The same director has now made another terrible movie in Terminator Genesys. He should be banned from making movies and go back to tv.

Yeah, it has no real obvious problems like Iron Man 2 does, but it's just kind of there. It has no real appeal or excitement about it, it's just "watch Thor be Thor for two hours." I do like some of the sci-fi imagery though, mainly the ships and barren world.

Aside from the money, I don't know why Portman takes these kinds of roles. She clearly doesn't care for them.

Plus, she can't act anyway.

I don't see how you can list her work and skip V for Vendetta. I think V and Leon are by far her best work.
