Thanks Rabbit! Do you have the other pages for blu-rays at FS? I didn't see any new releases mentioned in that pic! Oh well, I'll get my flyers tomorrow...

You didn't purchase anything at blockbuster when it
was closing down?

& Thanks for the heads up Van. Looks like a good deal.

I think I picked up over 10-12 blus that week and most were $5-10.
I believe all Bond movies were $7.50. I remember getting stuff like Eternal Sunshine and Corpse Bride for $5 and Godfather 1 and 2 for $12.50 each.

I haven't seen blus this low since then.

I believe I got se7en, truman show, and The others for $5 each. I got the Star Trek (next Gen and OS) films and some Bond films for 2/$15. Also, exorcism of emily rose, shawshank (book version) and JFK (book version) and numerous others and crazy prices. I didn't pay more than $10 for any single film.

Of course I did. I bought a lot of movies at the BBV closeouts.
And that's what they were. Closeouts.

Not only that but If you wanted blus below $10 at BBV. You had to wait until the sale hit 70% for the new stuff or go through the slim pickings of used movies that were mostly pilfered when the sale started at 30% off.

Plus, BBV stores were still opened on December 26th, 2010. We're just stating the facts that these were kick-ass deals and we haven't seen anything close to that. BBV closeouts were once and never again.

We're talking about Boxing Day sales of stores that are still opened. Walmart's Boxing Day sale last year was kick ass for new blu-rays. But sadly, most of the year, their occasional cheap blu-ray displays (Father's Day, Summer blowouts, etc...) they have been priced a little higher. Even some of the movies I picked up at Boxing Day like Godfather at $12.50, have resurfaced in their discount displays at $15.

I know. It was pretty sweet. After blowing so much money before Christmas, I ended up spending almost $70-80 on blus the day after.

Fargo is $6.99 at FS right now and you can price match at BB to make it even cheaper.

More like a buck which can add up even more if people have less distance to travel to BB than FS or will be in BB anyways saving them time going to another retailer.

And I ain't your bro.

So last new releases before Christmas are out today, and WM has the worst prices again? Columbiana was $24.99 this morning. Warrior was $29.9x. Not surprised...

It is just Rabbit and for some reason he does not like to use the real name for anything, at least with store names he uses them often enough that the connection is obvious to anyone that has read a few of his posts, unfortunately, way too often, I have to click on the images to decipher what movie he is talking about.

As much as Sphere was given negative reviews, I found the movie rather interesting. I agree, for 8 dollars thats a good buy.

A movie sucks all the same whether it costs $20 or $1. I never quite understood how a film suddenly improves seemingly based solely or mostly on the lowering price of the bluray.

Clearly they enjoyed the movie and did not think that it sucked...
