Yeah, I just don't see all the criticism the show is getting, aside from exactly what you mentioned - the cinematography and use of these historic locations has just been terrible. I mean, they had that whole 1/2 hour documentary this spring about all these exotic and historic shooting locations, and they felt completely wasted.

I thought the location they used for the water garden was fascinating in the documentary, but for what they actually used as show footage, they could have filmed it in Adventureland at Walt Disney World and it wouldn't have looked much different. What a waste.

But as far as the story/dialogue I have absolutely no qualms - I think the show has been as strong as ever, they just have dropped the ball in the directing/cinematography. It really has not looked like the most expensive show on TV this season, and if I were HBO I'd be asking where the hell all the money went.

Not to backtrack on you , but I'm surprised to hear you say that. While I thought the fight was poorly filmed, I've found the shots of the Water Gardens overall to be gorgeous. And the rest of the show looks visually stunning to me. I'd say the money has been very well spent. Much of this season has looked motion picture quality.

And I've had no qualms about the direction myself. I think it's been really strong.

But to each their own.

finales on GoT have multiple meanings and to put more fuel on on the fire. They are releasing the soundtrack a month after the season has ended. They have never done that before

We also know that Riverlands is coming back in a major way next season with the casting of Septon Meribald and so will Freys.

That's just the CD release. Even last year, the CD came out almost a month after the digital release.

I expect we'll see the digital release come out in the next couple weeks.

What do you guys think Stannis the Mannis will do with his daughter? It would suck if they had that touching moment a few episodes ago only for her to get sacrificed...

Not sure. The show doesn't have the best track record with him. I hope they surprise me and he refuses it, but the way he acted when it was suggested wasn't as appalled as it should have been.

I would think he will refuse and send her back to Castle Black. Then she will be back to save Jon.

I hope your right. They may go the direction of having his wife go behind back with the red woman to sacrifice her behind his back. Maybe this will be enough to make Stannis done with her? I feel like they've devoted a lot of screen time to her this season, and that maybe used to make us feel something more when she dies. I hope I'm wrong though.

I think Mel and Selyse will sacrifice Shireen at night behind Stannis' back and through the flames she'll see Jon instead of Stannis. Then, she'll head to Castle Black and Selyse will be executed.

I still refuse to believe that Shireen will die, and will continue to hold onto that opinion until the moment it happens.

I actually think Stannis will refuse to allow it, and this will in turn lead to his defeat (and probable death).

I'm ~banking on theon and sansa escaping, falling into stannis' hands, and then stannis sacrifices theon (who has his father's blood) and rallies the troops. the north remembers, theon...

Eh, nobody outside of the Iron Islands ever considered Balon a king, least of all Stannis (the "one true king").

Melisandre, especially, would find no use for the blood of a usurper's son.

Killing Theon would be about justice.Which is something Stannis is always talking about. He betrayed the Starks and is believed to have killed 2 of them, Stannis would definitely have him sacrificed like Mance if he ran into him. Not sure about the Iron Islands part, but I can see Theon rescuing Sansa and them running into Stannis and him being killed after a bit of redemption.
