Entertaining trailer. Thanks.
Keep us updated if you get a chance to see it in 3D. Thanks 13thman.

I think Dreamworks could have one of their biggest hits with Trolls. Especially if it's any good. I expect they'll also have a massive merchandising franchise on their hands.

Trailer's been out for a while now. Anyone see it in 3-D yet?

Yes, the Trolls teaser trailer 1 with the blank white background has medium to strong 3D layers after seeing the preview in theaters. Here's hoping the 3D is consistently stronger than the very disappointing, mostly mild 3D in Smurfs 1 from Sony. The backgrounds look decent and glad to see this is all CGI, and not the real world city as seen in Smurfs.

Here's trailer 2: Looks like it has a few potential pop outs:

I have tickets booked to see League Of Gods on Wednesday, so will report back once I've seen it, it's rare I get to see this kind of film theatrically and these days you never know if a film will get a 3D blu ray release, there are an awful lot that don't (e.g. Kung Fu Jungle, Ip Man 3, SPL 2)

I'm hoping since the director has worked with Tsui Hark so much he'll know what to do with the 3D...

Make it in time to actually be produced in/converted into 3D...or issued on the Blu-ray 3D format (or both)?

I meant that the theatrical releases for some could be delayed until 2019-2020 because only a couple of the live action ones have tentative release dates. Not all are announced as 3D yet either, but they're highly likely, based on those directors' past work.

Ah, I see.

ALIEN: Covenant and Resident Evil alone could make for a great 2017, by the way. Anderson's last two Residents remain near the top of my tops in native 3D titles; I'm still hoping that if 'The Final Chapter' hits big, he'll decide to do a "Part II" or something. Scott could push the depth a bit further, but his imagery is unparalleled; nothing more anticipated than his stereoscopic return to the ALIEN-verse. Prometheus is probably due for another spin around here, come to think of it.

Can't wait for Alien Covenant 3D. RE 6 should be fun.

Thanks, that sounds good. Hopefully he learned about strong 3D from Hark, I agree.

Looks like Bryan Singer and Gary Goddard's Broadway 4D is back on track, shooting again this year in native 3D. I'm hoping there is a theatrical version and its not just a venue attraction.

The Bacchus Lady (2016) (South Korea), playing in festivals now. 3D found a new genre.
Quote:
Just one among the 50% of elderly Korean citizens living below the poverty line, So-young spends her days in a park in Central Seoul, approaching old men with a bottle of 'Bacchus', a popular health drink, and an invitation to some private time in a motel room. One day, when visiting a doctor to get checked for a venereal disease, she meets a young Korean-Filipino boy who she takes into her charge when his mother is locked in jail. Later, she meets a former John now on his deathbed and hesitantly fulfills his request to put him out of his misery. Soon, other elderly men come to her, seeking assistance for euthanasia.

I remember seeing that "Sausage Party" was being released in 3D. It was listed in almost all upcoming 3D movie list. However I can't find one theater showing it in 3D in my area. Was the 3D scraped?

You mean on Wikipedia? Yeah, I saw it, but it's not in 3D.

Isn't this the title that even had people in China crying "foul" over the bad and ineffective 3D?

as much as I would like it to, I don't expect the German 3D blu ray of Mojin will have English subs. You'd have to rip/download it and play it with the subtitle track from one of the English-friendly 2D releases. It's a stupid world when these are the lengths you have to go to just to watch a 3D movie.

I had also heard Inferno was to be in 3D but maybe that will just be in China. There's already one real 3D film with that title anyway, and it's a good one...

Yes , there is a whole thread about that here .... https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=281761

Keep in mind... My post above was 2 weeks before the reviews in China came out.

The 2D version had bad reviews about the way it was shot , so of coarse 3D will magnify those problems.
