The more likely theory? It can depend on the particular disc and the particular player disc reader. There often is a sense of randomness to these kind of issues. A certain disc can play at times while breaking up another time. If it's not the disc itself, there could also be something on it (smudge, speck, etc.). My 820 had issues with First Blood repeatedly and had nothing on it, so I am going to exchange it. Hopefully it's not an issue with the player and the disc compatibility as other UHD BDs are playing fine on it. |

It presumably has a DI so I'm kinda surprised Lionsgate didn't do one of their quickie jobs and throw it out there with the other three. Maybe they didn't have enough lead time to schedule it. Would not be surprised at all to see it with Last Blood, yeah.

Finally got around to watching my copy of Rambo 3 last night and forgot how much I enjoyed that film. Much better than part 2.
Rambo Rankings. 1. First Blood 2. Rambo 4 3. Rambo 3 4. First Blood Part 2 |

I assume Mark meant that any “Rambo” UHD, whether it be released by Lionsgate, StudioCanal, Sony or whoever, will most likely be an upscale and not true native 4K. Mark didn’t mean all UHDs in general. Why LG didn’t release a 4K to cash in on the original trilogy releases is anyone’s guess.

A lot of people may not know that the DI for RAMBO was 2K. They may assume that it's native 4K like the first three films. I'm sorry if you feel this belittles your right to buy in any way but the information is neither pointless nor irrelevant. Only your grouchy, needlessly defensive posts are. |

I watched II last night. All in all, "decent" presentation with the detail being stronger than I excepted and the colors were bold (in a good way). The compression issues and lack of grain rather noticeable although not super bothersome to me for the most part. There were a couple of scenes where the weirdness did stand out to me more than usual. Still, unfortunate Studio Canal couldn't have had these issues in order. The remastered BD looked good - similar to First Blood - although I only looked at a few clips as the compression was not perfect on it either. Overall, it's been fun watching these on my set-up as I can eat up some of these 80s action flicks having grown up with them. Will get to III soon.

Depends on the sales of these and how eager Lionsgate is with their UHD output.

Yeah, I mean I don't have the innate dislike for Lionsgate as some of y'all do (not on UHD anyway, I think their BDs are poo though) but of all the studios that would take such a major leap as rebuilding a 2K DI in 4K, it ain't gonna be them.
