Paramount is loving their 7-8 minute new bonus features these days. All the Paramount Presents releases have, like, a single video of Leonard Martin talking for 7 minutes. Pretty unfortunate.

It's a good thing I don't buy these re-releases for the bonus content.

The interviews with Walter Hill on the two 48 Hrs. releases are almost 20 minutes each and I was shocked to see that the Maltin one on A Place in the Sun is over 40 minutes, so maybe this is changing.

Not to mention that it's getting released by the studio, not a smaller label like Scream Factory or Arrow. Commissioning additional bonus content for the disc isn't as much of a priority for the studios anymore. |

On the audio commentary Craven said that their frequent complaint was the intensity level of the violence. So many arbitrary trims to almost every violent sequence was enough for them to feel appeased.

Plus, the violence featured teenagers, and even in those pre-Columbine times, studios tended to be less lenient when it came towards violence aimed at teens. Same levels of (still mild) gore aimed at adult characters, and I doubt they would have been axed.

The former MPAA now MPA hates moving blood. I heard that on mainly commentaries.
there was a part in the first Scream in the kitchen scene. I think it was Billy you pan down to see blood dripping from his hand, and i guess that was deemed to disturbing by them. So that had to be trimmed. |

It’s a compressed 1080p YouTube video, I wouldn’t worry just yet.
